Here's my email for ticket #2009070710001135

    It's regarding Guitar Rig Mobile.

I filed it two days ago and have yet to receive a response.

"I just got a brand new Dell XPS computer with Vista 64 bit. I\'ve activated the product, the service center indicates this, yet the program will only run in demo mode. It says that my \"hardware has changed\" when in fact, it has not.

    Please advise."

If I can't find a solution today I'm sending it back.
    ---
I forgot to add that even in demo mode, neither the hardware in/out box or the software will detect any input from either of my guitars.

Do you have UAC disabled? Try disabling UAC or run GR as administrator; is it registered now?

As for the interface, what's your settings under audio/MIDI settings?

I just disabled UAC. Plugged in the interface and started GR. It tells me my hardware has changed. I try to run it in demo mode, and the interface shows no input no matter what level i have the input set at.

I've got the audio settings set to use Guitar Rig Mobile interface.

Inputs and outputs under your routing tab?

Ok...that fixed the audio problem. Thank you.

What should I do about the registration issues? In my service center it says that Guitar Rig LE is registered, but whenever I open GR it prompts me to register/active/demo and says that my hardware has changed.

I'm still dead in the water with this product.

It will only run in demo mode.

Still no response to my support tickets.

I got an email back saying to turn off user account control. Which I've already done. I was also instructed to read articles about optimizing Vista for audio.

    Nope.

I have never had to go to lengths this great to get a program to work. I shouldn't have to.

I had the EXACT same problem...deactivate UAC, uninstall the program, and re-isntall, update, then activate, and it's working fine.

Seemingly, Vista's UAC prevents Service Center from writing to the config file to fully activate the program(Vista folder permissions prevent writing to some folders by programs), a common issue for some older software.
