Novation Dicer Tsi file issues...PLEASE HELP...

Good evening!

Im on the verge of slamming my dicers against the wall due to mass annoyance, so any help would be appreciated,

I have followed the instructions on the TECH TOOLS and the NOVATION websites to the letter on the varying TSI files that they have for the dicers, everytime I go to import them, in the device set up box, you can select "dicer" and also in the in-port and out-port boxes too, this is not a problem, however, then you are left with the assignment table completely blank and not listing any settings at all...

this is most infuriating,Traktor is up to date and like I said I have tried over and over as is listed on the websites but to no joy...Any suggestions?Apart from investing in a X-1 controller...

Maybe if you post some screenshots, tell us what your system is and what version of traktor you are using, we can help.

OSX 10.5.5 Intel core 2 duo

Processor speed 2.86ghz

Memory 4GB


Traktor scratch pro version 1.2.7

Screenshot of controller manager in preferences...In-port and Out-port can be set to Dicer too, however this alters noithing, and the assigment table does not list the settings for the dicers.

 

Man, it looks like you haven't imported any tsi file. I am not very familiar with MacOS, but I presume the software looks the same.

When you download the desired tsi, you must import it with "import" button on your down left corner from your screenshot. When you do it, the mapping will show its assigned functions in that space called "Assignment table"

Ok, sorry, I read your post again, and I saw you did it like I told you in your first time. Now, when you try to manually assign anything (whatever), is it working?

My guess here is tsi files are made with older version of Traktor.

Hmmm...I have already contacted novation via email, hopefully will get a response from their techies regarding this, It did occur to me it may be an update issue, but hopefully they will be able to help out, niether the novation midi mapping or the Tech Tools mapping load up, its a pain but Im sure that someone will come up with the solution to this, may also email Tech Tools regarding the problem...

Im going to attempt entering the mapping manually this evening, see how far I get!

heres the email I received from the peeps at Novation regarding the dicer issue, mine work fine now after following these instructions:

"Just to be sure these are not faulty, Please could you download this small application which helps identify faults with midi controls: For Mac - www.snoize.com Midi Monitor For PC - www.midiox.com Set the device as an input source and move the affected control. Does the information given suggest the control is faulty? Feel free to save the data and send it to me. Now please follow these instructions: 1) Backup any existing Traktor Settings2) Plugin in the Dicer using supplied cables3) RunTraktor4) Open the Traktor Preferences window5) select the "Audio Setup" tab & choose your preferred audio interface6) select the "Output Routing" tab & choose your preferred audio outputs7) select the "Controller Manager" tab8) In the Device Setup click "Add…" select import9) this will open a browser where you can navigate to the DicerTraktor.tsi file or the DicerTraktorScratch.tsi file, (the scratch one does not include transport & browsing control)10) insure that the Dicer is selected in drop down menus for "Dicer", 'In-Port" & "Out-Port"11) close the Traktor Preferences window"

otherwise on djtechtools forum there is a custom mapping made my mrblenderson that worked for me even though the novation and dj techtools mapping didnt work.

 

Hey if anyone could help me out ive been trying to get this mappings to work but no matter what i do i still get that screen shot above. It just seems to not want to import. Also satchel if that worked could you post the link for me.

So has this issue been solved? I have a Dicer on order and should arrive by next weekend. I have downloaded the tsi files from Novation as well as DJTT for Traktor Scratch and noticed that both tsi files have different config settings once they are added in the device set up's assignment table.

Has anyone tried both and can you tell me which is the better tsi for the dicer in TSP/TSP2?

 

I have tried it all. I cant get my Dicers to work with my traktor scratch duo. I have tried every mapping in the internet world,, Is there a fix, if not, im out, I have had nothing but problems with Traktor from day one, I cant stand it anymore, sorry guys, this is a bit of a rant, but I have been on the phone with Novation, who blows you off, cause they made the dicer for scratch live, and supply mappings for traktor to be nice, but thats as far as they will go, and I sent screen shots to traktor and all my specs, and my specs is just the same as everyone else's and my screen shot is the same as the screen shot above. If any one has a fix please tell. If I cant fix this, I think im going to Serato. I have a few friends with Live and they have never had a problem. So if someone can help and stop me from going to the dark side, Cool. Thanks to everyone. Sorry for the Ranting.

 

i'm just about to open the box to my new dicers..for use with my new djm-t1 mixer.. i was excited until i had read this thread..now i'm somewhat apprehensive...however my buddy is running the same setup so i know it is 100% possible..i'll report back if i'm successful and/or my good friend can relay any useful information for us to take note of!
