I have Traktor on a laptop with Numar Stealt Control and DJ i|O.
I just bought an external Hard drive for my music.

Any recommendations between formating NTFS or FAT ?

I think I know the answer...NTFS...but I would rather be sure...

If you don't intend to use Mac anytime soon, you may as well stick with NTFS; it allows larger partitions than the FAT systems; there are more benefits than that but I've been out of the PC game for so long I don't remember.

Stick with NTFS. FAT/FAT32 is a dying technology.

I suggest that you have at least one copy of your music files on a fat32 formatted drive. You can format it over 1Tb. But since it's your only drive stick with NFTS.

I say this because the fat format is compatible with almost anything (PC/MAC)

Some of the software and media players that I use will only work with music on fat32. There is a tool to formatt your drive past 32gb. Just google fat32fomat.exe. if you think you need to go that route.

Go with NTFS uncompressed if the bulk of your use will be windows. I thought I read yesterday that paragon NTFS was now able to support read and write on an NTFS Volume inside OSX so that may be a slamdunk then.
