Hi - very happy new Maschine owner here, with a quick question: Am I missing something or do you need to have the hardware connected in order to nudge a pattern? I'm sitting at work editing a few patterns without my controller and I want to nudge a pattern by a couple of beats. I can't find anything in the reference manual about a nudge function in the software so I guess I'm out of luck. Is this correct?

you can highlight the notes in the pattern and move them with the mouse all at once or individually

But if I do that it doesn't wrap the hits at the beginning of the loop back round to the end, if you see what I mean. It just squishes them all together.

EDIT: I wrote that thinking that I've done this with the hardware earlier in the week and it behaved like this. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm sure the loop wrapped itself back round from the starting point to the end when I used Nudge...?

not sure about that one, maybe I'm not understanding what you're trying to do properly

i see that, too. if you nudge or move all elements to the left, they got kind of "eaten up", becoming shorter. there is no particular stop point when you reached the start of your pattern, i guess?

I'm just trying to nudge a pattern 2 beats ahead of where it is at the moment, but keep the pattern identical. There are hits on the first beat of the first bar, and when I move the loop ahead by two beats these need to get knocked to the end of the loop for the loop to stay the same.

I'm sure the hardware nudge function behaves like this (I could be wrong since I don't have it in front of me at the moment), but there's not a software equivalent by the looks of it - if I select everything in the arrange window and drag, then everything starts to get squished together at the start of the loop rather than wrap itself around to the end of the loop. I'd love this loop-wrapping functionality to be the default behaviour of the Maschine software...

Nudging with the mouse can be a bit fiddly since they added the snap to grid feature in 1.6

You can nudge using the alt + keyboard arrows and it will behave properly. Be aware that you must take the pattern area out of focus because it steals/messes up the key commands. So first click on a blank portion of the parameters area below the arranger before using the command.

B-righteous, you truly are a righteous dude. That works perfectly! Thanks - now when I'm at work I can focus more on my drum programming and less on my job. (Only joking! ...or am I...?)
