    Hey guys.

I've been trying to find opinions about how Numark 4Trak compares to the new Traktor S4. I'm looking to buy a decent controller to replace my 1200s and 4channel mixer.

I do like the 4Trak layout and size. 4Trak's 60 cm width vs S4's 50 cm seems to be a good thing as I like bigger controllers more.

But anyone tried both and give some opinions about the build quality of each? And feature set keeping in mind I already have a F1 to use remix decks.

Also would be interesting to hear how people feel the layout of buttons and faders feel on both?

    thanks!

Build quality of either will be a significant downgrade from your 1200/mixer setup. I would keep the turntables and pick the smaller, lighter S4 over the 4Trak as a portable setup.

I'm aware that 1200s are rock solid and so is a external mixer but....let me think about that then.
I've tried DDJ-T1 and that was a bit plastic. How do the S4 and 4Trak compare to that?

The 4Trak has a metal faceplate, but all the controls and pot shafts are still plastic aren't they?

    *sigh*

Yes, the controls are plastic, but the casing is metal...

And which matters more, the casing or the controls? Hardware mixers almost always have metal shafts for the pots.

You dont like the 4trak..I get it. Dude was asking about two controllers, i gave my opinion on the one I like. I've had no trouble out of it, I've travelled with it...in and out of clubs/bars/lounges on a weekly basis since I got it. Excellent build quality, in my opinion...
