Numark Mixdeck - First Impressions

i wanded to connect my mixdeck to the tractor. now i can play mp3 from my laptop on the mixdeck but i can,t control the tractor with the mix deck ..does anyone know whats wrong ?

How come NM doesn't just offer to us the crossfader replacement?

 

Numark hasn't heard enough complaints to issues a fix for this issue. No company wants to admit they made a manufacturing mistake.

 

Midi quit communicating with Traktor

So I have had the mixdeck for about 6 months now and have had no issues other than the annoying crossfader. Other than that it has been a great unit! Till... last weekend. I used it Friday night with no issues.. Sunday turned it on to spin a session and it wouldn't control anything. It shows it's connected, the audio plays through if I hit the play button on the software. But any buttons i push on the mixdeck won't control anything. The pitch control won't pitch. No buttons on the mixdeck do anything at all. I reinstalled the software and drivers twice. Used updates from the website and nothing. I'm wondering if the audio controller is fried inside the mixdeck. anybody have any issues like this? How long is he warranty on this thing?

 

This may be a stupid question to ask here but I'm going to go for it since its the most looked at Mixdeck thread...Does anyone here know how to record a set to the ipod/itouch/iphone. I've tried all three and cant seem to find an option.... any help would be appreciated . Either through reply or email asap...

Scratch Mode Deck A Problem

 

Only 3 Issues for me.
1) the jog wheel scratch function

2) the Play buttons.

3) and the previously mentioned crossfader issue...

I had to go in the unit and super glue it back together...A word of advice- If you are into the music and you pushing the button (with force) DONT DO IT. Its not built to take that type of pressure. Just press it on beat and keep it moving...

Im saving up my money for the Numark mixdeck but if i see how much problems it has for that kind of money range maybe it isnt worth my money.
I also dont understand that numark isnt doing anything on the crossfader issue.
Im a beginner dj and i only have the software traktor. Now is my question should i get this numark mixdeck(as my first real dj gear) or should i go for a less expensive midi controller. I think i have some party's were i can play on when im a little better but is it really worth the money the numark mixdeck? Becouse if it didnt have all these issues i would certainly go for this one for sure. Becouse it looks great but when i hear the buttons are made from plastic and all these fader issues. It maybe isnt worth the money for me.

I know alot of people have asked these questions but there are several thoughts about it so i hope i can get 1 good and helpfull answer from someone so the next people that visits this thread wont ask it again. (I've read the whole thread but couldnt make a decision in buying one or not).

So to clear this up is the Numark mixdeck worth the money becouse of all those issues with USB names of tracks fader issue etc?

I would say get it....for the price, its not bad. You get CD players and a MIDI controller all in one. If you are pinching pennies, I cant answer that one...im happy with it......

 

Hey ok thank you for the fast respond but I heard that the mixer isn't MIDI compatible so does that mean that when i run traktor I can't control the eq and all those things with the mixer ? And what did you do on the faderr issue ? And did you have any other issues and how did you fix ? Thx man bye

 

Hey So the only issue I have noticed, other then the crossfader, is when using this as a midi controller, I get no info sent to the mixdeck display. I only noticed this as an issue after connecting to someone elsess Traktor pro, and the info was being sent, BPM, track title, even the progress bar for the song....what am I missing in my setup? I followed the setup wizard, just the same on the other computer, and still only seeing the play/pause icons. I have done the firmware update, and searched these and numarks forums, and still not even a mention of how to send the info, or whether or not anyone has also had this issue...any tips?

 

Its just a regular mixer..If you want t control eq further use your mouse to move them...

I took it apart and glued it back together....As I said before, just dont pound on the buttons they cant take it...

The Jog Wheel:

I dont scratch much...But I would like to do basic turntablism ( doubles triples, etc)....im looking into that......
