Cheers man, Ive been messing with it for a few days non stop now, and am starting to think im going to have to get down to the nitty gritty and do a complete uninstall, clean my registry and then reinstall, which will be a pain, as Im not sure how that will work with registration..that and I really dont want to deal with Analyzing all my tracks again lol..

Ok, so heres an easier question, does anyone else get the track info on their display? I cant even find mention of it from anyone, and am starting to think it may be something to do with having the traktor control connected as well...?

I am able to get the track time on the display. I am also able to switch between time is remaining on the track and how much time has passed on the track.

Also, someone above mentioned that the knobs don't move when they move them on the console - you're right and that is because it's not a midi mixer.

Anyway, I suggest you all sell this crappy unit and pickup a S4 which is the only software/hardware DJ system in the world and it's AMAZING - period!

Hi, I had the same problem and fixed installing firmware. Checking my mixdeck I noticed that my firmware version was v034. Now there is a new version: v.038. Do you have already checkup your firmware version?
    try this:
Be sure you have firmware V038
on the rear panel of the mixdeck, "input selector" select PC.
backup your traktor's files (playlist etc)
update Traktor 1.2.7 version at native instruments webpage

    Hope this comments help you
sorry for my english, im still practicing this language
    ---
In the Menu/help use startup wizard...select your config
make sure you have traktor in External Mixer

Will the mixdeck allow me to plug vinyl turntables with traktor-timecoded vynils playing on them, in order to control Traktor playback ?

I mean, if I don't want to use the jog wheels located on the mixdeck ?

    Thanks in advance :)

Hi, yes you can. Mixdeck allows aux inputs (rca), you can connect audio sources to intputs. These inputs can accept both line and phono-level signals.

    Quick start guide says:
"line/phono switch - flip this switch to the appropiate position, depending on the device connected to the aux inputs. If you are using phono-level turntables, set this switch to phono to provide the additional amplification needed for phono level signals"

    saludos!

    Hi
Thanks for your answer, but i might have badly explained my question : reading the manual i already knew the mixdeck would allow rca input . My real point was, would it allow timecoded source (whatever it might be, vinyl, external pioneer cd turntable, ipad tonetables...) to control traktor playback :)

    Sorry if i was unclear...
Anyone tested this setup ? If it works what about thre latency ?

yes it does, but you still have to run an interface...you would be running the cd line out into the interface, then into the mac/pc.

Hi and thanks for the answer !
Not sure how the setup would look like , though...? How do i use audio 2(or4)dj and mixdeck at the same time ?

I believe you will hook up the the mixdeck as usb per norm, but take the cd outs, on the mixdeck, and route them into the interface, that should work. I havent had a chance to hook it up myself and test, but have used other rigs, and read through a few articles and that should work from what ive seen. Audio routing within Traktor, Im not too sure about that, so just play around, and you should get it fairly easily...let me know if that works..

Also, anyone else figure out that issue with displaying info on the mixdecks display?

I'm experiencing a weird problem with my mixdeck...on the left deck it constantly displays the wrong BPM and many times just displays "0.0", meaning it cant read the bpm. I tried many different songs. I am using it with flash drives, not cds. I updated it to the newest firmware yesterday and still the same problem. Is there anyway to fix this? because this is one thing you need to mix.

When I try to connect my mixdeck to Traktor Pro I do not have any headphone monitor at all! Anyone else experiencing this problem? Plus the hardware crossfader doesn't communicate with the Traktor crossfader

You'll have to read the manual to find out how to configure Traktor to run with an Analog Mixer. Bringing me to my next point :p, the mixer in the middle (all faders, knobs, in the middle), will not control Traktor. The mixer is 100% analog, not midi, and will not communicate with any software :(. It's a bummer, but it eventually (at least it did with me) will grow on you :).

hey, the monitor is controlled directly through the mixer, as it is analog, as said before. First, make sure you have at least 1.2.4 installed, then, run teh setup assistant from the help menu, and tell it yes, your are using and interface, and choose the mixdeck, not le. tehn on your mixer, look at the cue fader and volume, under it is a selecter for either cue (what you porbably want), master (whats coming out main line out) and ipod, choose accordingly...

Still havent fixed the issue with nothing being sent to the mixdeck display, thoguh i have heard several other users having the same issue, with pro, duo, etc, different versions, and, it seems to be random.

Also noting a problem with traktor pro changing the scratch sensitivity on the platters, making it scroll though the track way too fast....no fix, also randomly occuring.

one other thin i have noted is my ipod deck comes through as not supported. I cant play from, or record to the ipod and cant find any walkthroughs on how to make it work...any help would be great!

At risk of posting a repetative reply, make sure you do the firmware update to the mixdeck....and what source is having issues displaying (cd/mp3/midi)?

    Hi guys

I just came across the mixdeck a little while ago and I've been doing as much research as I can but there are still some points that I would appreciate if you could clear up for me. Forgive me if these seems both obvious and redundant. The mixer is analog, and therefore does not control traktor? So, when using traktor software, the computer acts as hardware controlling cross fading, equalizing, etc and the decks act as hardware controlling cueing, looping, scratching, etc. I know this has been asked before but I can't grasp not being able to use such a big part of the hardware with the software provided. Also, does that mean that I will not be able to hear my cue tracks through my headphones when using traktor, without an external soundcard such as audio 2 dj. Finally, if I did purchase this, as soon as I opened the box I would have to send it back to Numark to have the crossfader fixed or repair it myself, they are not producing them with this fix yet? If my understanding off all this is correct, I have to ask why. The hardware lacks certain elements I would want to make it a stand alone unit such as waveform display and programmable cue points, which the software makes up for, but then I can't use aspects of the hardware that I want. Seems like such a tease. Hopefully my lay understanding of this will prove me wrong and you guys can talk me into buying this.
    Cheers.

Hey, yeah the mixer is analog, but the unit acts as an external card, you just use the setup wizard in traktor, and it will route the audio through, and yes, you can still use all functions like sendning to cue, etc. I havent had a problem yet, the only thing i can think of is if your using timecode cds for traktor, you have to send the cd outs to an actual interface still...kinda hard to follow i know, but yeah, it works fine, totally functional with traktor.
as for the crossfader, i dont have issues with it anymore, im used to it now, I use the main faders for each channel for a lot of the mixing anyway..

    Question

I'm having a couple issues with my new mixdeck that I'm hoping someone can help with. :)

    1) Does anyone else hear an audible 'click' when switching from cd to usb-midi source? I'm using headphones, and havent yet even connected to my system/speakers, but the cue is in the master position and I'm hearing this click when I switch... I mean, not only a click, but the audio playing on the other deck actually drops out for a split second! Hoping this isnt the norm!

    2) I've had this for less than 12 hrs and so far it's frozen/crashed on me 3 times. And each time, it's (again) when I'm switching from CD to usb-midi. It would either say "connecting" on the player screen.... and just stay there foirver.. OR, the player's screen would just go BLANK! From which there was no return... Other than REBOOTING.. which I cannot do during a gig without looking like an ASS... Anyone experience these things? I love the machine in every other way.. The fader is a little wack, but I can live with it for now I suppose.. BUt I need stability. Any advice? Settings? Etc I can try?

FYI I'm using Traktor pro (didnt even bother installing LE).. with Windows7, plenty of ram & all that...

    Any info is appreciated! Thanks!~
