Just to let people know, as far as I can tell, the NDX800 via Midi Control with Traktor would only be useful with one deck as I cannot see a way of changing another unit one different midi channels.

For this reason I have configured a mapping file to control 4 decks in traktor, with cuepoints, pitch bend, scratching, browsing and loading and one advanced FX unit control.

You can see it in action here:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDjSeRC3I3Y"]YouTube- Numark NDX800 4 Deck Midi Control+FX in Traktor Pro[/ame]

If anyone in the UK would like this control you can get this mapping file FREE for Traktor Pro when you purchase from us at Soundware:

    http://www.soundware.co.uk/sc/products/Numark NDX800 MP3 CD USB Player Controller

Simply contact myself on 0191 260 3333 to request the mapping file FREE with the order.

    Hi Steven,

I had already pre-ordered my decks from another retailer but would have bought them from you had I known you were going to throw in this mapping. Are you going to make it available for other users to purchase? I have been waiting for this mapping for weeks..

What is the feel of this unit ? I'm myself interested buying two of these, the price is appealing. But I'd wait for a functional .tsi first.

Have you assigned the commands to deck A and deck B?

I Just hooked it up and it worked. In the control panel I got two midi connections.

I use Win7 Ult x64. I had some problems earlier when I tried it on a XP machine.

I ask again : is the NDX800 a good unit? How does the jog feel? The knobs? the faders? Does text on the LCD screen readable? Is is solid? Heavy or light? How about sound quality? MIDI assignment? Latency? What's good about it and what's not?

I have only got the main functions to work (play, cue and pitch), no LED or display functions. I am hoping that there will be a solid TSI released soon.

And, I can honestly say that after working with the Pioneer CDJ800's, the numark ndx800 is pretty good! I don't have a bad thing to say about it.

I checked in, and the NDX800 is, in terms of features, pretty much like Numark's older generation CD player, the iCDX. Only thing I see is one or two more effects and a bigger jog wheel and LCD screen. I wonder why the NDX800 sells for 500$, while the iCDX was sold for like 675$...

Anyway, good to hear that slproject. Now, I'm just waiting too for some rock-solid TSI. But have you managed to use the NDX as a CD player? If so, was it cool?

I have done a couple of gigs using it only as a CD-player and it works great. No problems at all. It reads all of my discs, even the really old cd-r's that are full of scratches.

It feels like Numark has taken the players to a new level. The earlier ones were in my opinon a bit lame.

Yeah, the wheels are cool, the effects-unit is likely v7 ( a beast also !) and its got a bleepreverse , the loopcutter stick is also a good idea, not as cool as a knob, but definitely cooler than buttons.

Scratching on that - for me is a lot betta than on the cdj400 -

the only pitty is, that u cant use the audio interface as USB-Audio, and the display is no HID (...can this be changed with a firware upgrade?)

For CD purposes - it rockz
