Sent. hope that fixes your issue.

BTW, I've received an email from Numark confirming my request for an updated jog wheel LED that is actually useful. hopefully a future firmware update will allow us to configure different LED feedback settings when using CDs.

It's a shame there's no way to midi map the LED's around the platter...

Yeah, seems that the LEDs are just a generic routine controlled internally when the Play button is pressed. There should be a way to at least get LEDs in midi mode even w/o midi notes sent from the host software. But I don't write drivers so...

Just thought I would let you guys know, I have a tsi file for one mixdeck to control A/B. Here is what I did, and is real easy to do actually once I figured it out. I was forced to learn this since my one ndx800 no longer goes into midi mode and Numark support is not so good. Actually funny to say numark and support together. Anyway, one NDX800 will control A/B. If you want to control C and D, you can just add two more commands and make one for C and one for D.

So anyway, I used the mixdeck controller tsi that is natively supported by NI and TP/TSP, changed the shift switch to control deck select instead of loop size since I use a X1 for that. I then changed the track knob to scroll the tree rather than the tracks in a list. I just uploaded it and hope it works and helps others.

I should also add, this file controls the fx in chained mode, not advanced. you can look at the pdf in the controller folder to see how it controls them. And apparently its not only the ndx800, but also the settings for the X1 and a test mapping of my mixer, but all that is needed is the mixdeck A part.

Steven how can I get the side platters of the Mixtrack to pitch bend like this device? In VDJ you can nudge with the sides of the platters and it's sounding like you made thie above do the same.

Dunno how Stephen set it up but I use a modifier for Scratch so when I place my finger on the platter top a modifier turns on and enables scratch mode automatically. However for the platter side I keep the modifier value at 0 and use a *Temp Bend (stepless) for nudge +/- depending on direction.
I'm sure there are other, perhaps better ways of achieving the result but I like this way so far.

*I believe this is the correct midi command as it may be Tempo Bend. I'm not at my laptop to check at the moment.

thanks... I just need to figure out the actual control value of the sides on the device itself...

    For the Jog sides it's:
    Ch01 CC034
    Encoder
    Relative
    Sensitivity: 10%
    Acceleration: 0%

    Is this what you mean?

Would I need a specific MIDI mixer with a pair of NDX800's to work with Traktor Pro and the likes or is it possible to map a Numark M3 or M4 instead?

All you would need is an external soundcard like an audio 4 dj and then you can use whatever mixer you want, MIDI or regular. The NDX800's would control tp via USB and MIDI, but your sound would go out through the Audio 4, 1/2 for deck A into channel 1 of your mixer and 3/4 for deck B into channel 2 of your mixer.

I've been looking at the Behringer DDM4000 recently as it's MIDI.
If I hook this up with a Pair of NDX800's then everything should me mappable shouldn't it?
Sorry for the maybe obvious questions but for a beginner some of this stuff is quite hard to get your head around for the first time.

I just want to keep things as simple as possible and then expand in time.

    setup would be:

    ................Laptop with Traktor Pro..............
    ..............................|..............................
    ..............................|..............................
    ..............................|..............................
    NDX800 --- Behringer DDM4000 --- NDX800

I assume you are trying to import a TSI?
You are hitting the wrong import button. Go to Controller Manager and press the Add... button and press Import

Digging up this thread to see if anyone has a tsi that includes or knows how to:

get the platter LED's working like they do in CD mode? (Spinning when you are scratching otherwise rotating)
    display bpm on LCD
display tempo % +/- on the LCD
    display key
edit (SOLVED) :: setup platter to work like CDJ-800 where outer rim bends pitch and top of platter acts as scratch

Also is it possible to display the track time on the LCD? That would be absolutely amazing.

    NDX 800's With Traktor Pro

    Hi guys!

I'm not exactly new to dj'ing, been doing it for a couple of years and usually use midi decks with Traktor Pro on my Macbook Pro. I was just wondering, if i got two of these Numark NDX 800 decks, is it possible to hook both of them up to traktor on my mac, and use the external mixer to mix the tracks, please help lads otherwise im screwed!:D And is it easy to do so if i can? thanks

    Whitby.

    Hey man,

You can definitely hook these decks up to your laptop. You can use either USB MIDI in which you'll need to get the midi files from numark or make your own, OR you can use timecode cds and use them that way.

You will need a decent sound card (preferably an audio 4 or an audio 8) and then you can use your external mixer.

Keep in mind if you're using the timecode cds you will have to forfeit some of the features of the ndx-800 like the built in FX and looping.
