I thought you could do that with th TAP button from the actual ns7?

True, the tap buttons on the NS7 already do this.

I was thinking about 4 deck mode but I quickly realized there wouldn't be a way to route in the other decks.

Most you could do is three.

Getting prepared for the V7 launch as well because you could do four deck control with Traktor and four V7's.

Their marketing group is always bound to what units they have available.
There is currently no V7 I could have. I'll try to get one (to review and map) from a local audio-hardware dealer.

    Numark V7 ?

    Hello All,
I am upgrading my dj settup and thinking of getting the Numark V7's
Does anyone know if they will work with Traktor Scratch Pro?
Also, does anyone know if Traktor is going to support video soon?
    thanks,
    Geoff

No idea when - or if - Traktor will get a native support for Numark V7. If it acts as a MIDI-controller (I don't know, haven't had the time to check details of the thing) it shouldn't be too much of a problem because you can make your own controller mapping to suit your needs.

As far as video goes, I believe Native Instruments stated in a semi-official discussion (Traktor on the record or something like that) that any kind of video support is currently not under consideration - at least officially (no doubt they are looking into it internally, but whether that ever actualises, it's anyone's guess).

See this sucks, I'm spinning in the main shopping mall tonight and the way we're setting up I'll have to use the NS7.

I wanted to be using Traktor because there will be live coverage and I have to use Itch. Grrrrr

lol, good luck man. ITCH is missing lot of features but at least one thing you can be sure of is that it wont dissapoint you with its stability.

Trust me I hate having to use Itch, I feel so crippled when I use it. What sucks is I have something I can use but I have to re-build a lot of the controls because the direct assignments are not all functional. I can't go backwards with the tsi imports either.

So I have to use both direct and rebuild the maps then I can do a 'true' demo video.
I got a new digital cam so I'll do something up in a bit.

    I haven't done them yet.

I have to rebuild the TSI since it's based on an older build of Pro. For the broken controls I can make them work with midi instead.

The most important thing is the platter control, it works awesome, but some of the other built-in controls are completely broken.

It just sucks I can't import the assignments from my newer tsi, because all I would have to do is delete all the controls and just use the platter controls.

Now thinking about it, the only couple things that would have to be fixed is the motor off assignment stopping playing when enabled.

I can't wait until I don't have to use two different applications. One application, many control mediums.

I just don't see the purpose of having two different apps to run a controller. If I was an SSL user, this would have frustrated me to no end.

    Indeed.
I'm spinning in Traktor, presenting OmniControl in Traktor, but have to use Itch (and maintain its library) for the NS7. That's doubled work without benefitting from it.

I agree with you Quartz that Itch "cripples" you when compared to TP. But I'm intrigued by the whole Ableton/Bridge/Itch concept. I've been spending the weekend with Ableton Live and an Akai APC40 and I'm quite impressed. Using Bridge to couple Ableton with Itch/NS7 could be pretty damn dope. I don't know. Just a thought.

We'll get there.... I'm not holding my breath for that because 1.5 is not even out yet and I'm not impressed by it.

The only thing that could be comparable is Itch 2.0 and who knows when that will even release.

I say full steam ahead with Pro 1.3, with sampler rack, more HID controller support, etc...

I'm going to do a demo video for you guys shortly that will make people realize what I'm talking about.

Hey guys I need your advice. I'm a newbee to DJ-ing and frankly I have never DJ'd but to start out, I want some quality hardware. What should I get, a Numark NS7 with a NSFX, or should I get 2 Numark V7's and a Vestax VMC-002XLUSB mixer? What would be the real difference between the two besides the $$? Are there any more features on the V7? Thanks. Just so you know, I have a macbook black, so no compatibility issues there.

P.S. What's the best DJ software? Traktor Pro vs. Serato Scratch Live vs. Virtual DJ
