    Here's the thing though.

I've already bought Traktor. They already have my money.

I am seriously contemplating dropping $1,300+ on this Numark controller if I see Traktor support.

So, I could take that angle with the Numark rep. Saying, this is what's preventing me from spending $1,300 on your product...

With the TSI, you can do everything and scratch somewhat with midi support.

The true performance comes in when the HID support is added. No one is saying anything except Numark claims Q1 support for the NS7 in Traktor.

That's all I know for right now. One of the biggest reason's I started the project ground was the show how much power the NS7 standalone can have with Traktor over Itch.

All the myths that were floating around about Itch being the only app to be able to provide low latency, tight control needed to be smashed.

So re-iterate what I did, the beta I'm demonstrating has HID controls available in it. So I'm still using 98% midi for everything, I would say even 99%. However, the 1% - 2% of HID control was used for platter control and a few minor mixer controls
    due to direct mapping.

Everything else is done with the midi mappings in my TSI file.

I feel you Double J on the investment issue, that's exactly why I started this with Traktor.

    - One application for Timecode and NS7 control
    - More standard features, effects, better UI, more expandability with four decks
    - Less hardware to add-on, price spent on that could be spent upgrading to Traktor Pro instead.

I wish I had more info for you guys but I don't, all I could do is show you the possibilities.

Don't worry about it man, you're doing a great job!

Is the NSFX mapped for Traktor yet? Is it work getting?

I'm currently waiting to see if this one eBay seller relists their auction, because they were offering an NS7 and an Odyssey glide case for $1,400 buy it now. Which is a great deal considering the NS7 is $1,300 and the Odyssey glide case is $350.

There are some other auctions that have it for $1,500 which is still a deal, but I'm currently messaging the other ebay seller to see when they will have that case back in stock.

Either way, I should be ordering soon.

Why has VDJ been able to do this for months, and traktor is still behind?

So can Traktor, there must be legalities, or contracts holding up the process.

Numark said Q1 2010, so who knows when exactly.

    Just ordered mine!

    NS7FX + Odyssey Glide Case = $1,600
    Keyboard Stand = $50

$1,650 with free shipping on each item. Not a bad deal.

What about Denon 4500? And CID/MIDI

    Hello,
I heard someone is using the Denon 4500 protocol to utilize the HID platter movement in the 3700's?
If this is true?;;Then it is not only possible but definitley probible that someone, maybe DJ Quartz will enlighten us all?
I still love vinyl, but the NS7 is good cause you don't need to replace the needles/slipmats/etc..., Polish records, store and transport vinyl!
I am getting a NS7 in a few weeks unless someone can steer me to a V7?
I think it might be good for traktor, but more to set-up?
    Any input is appreciated?
Also, DJ Quartz, how do I log in and request you as a friend on facebook or myspace? I would appreciate the invite from here on the east coast?
    thanks,

    Audio setup

    Hi all,

Firstly big ups to quartz for getting the TSI mappings to where they are today. I am new to Traktor Pro, have it up and running with the mapping file no problem, have tested this with start and stop on my ns7 and the midi interface is working no problems.

However I am having trouble actually hearing any sound? I can't test master output at the moment as it's late at night but what I am actually trying to get sound through is the headphone monitors. I have scoured through probably the last 20 pages of this thread to get up to speed with everything and I understand one user had a similar issue and adjusted audio settings to rectify this. Could Quartz, or somebody else knowledgeable on Traktor help me out at all?

I have my Prefs -> Audio Setup -> Audio Device set to "NS7 USB Audio Device (ASIO)" (I also tried another in the list - "Numark NS7 Audio - WDM 2.9.9..." alas to no avail)

and I believe I might have to tinker with my Output/Input Routing settings. What should these be on? With the first entry, ns7 usb audio device (asio) selected my "Output Monitor" in "Output Routing" is set to:

    L -- 1: Out 1
    R -- 2: Out 2

with the only entries available in the list being a drop down of Out 1 - 4. "Output Master" and "Output Record" are set to 'not selected'.

I have tried various combinations of these but still hear nothing? All ns7 volumes and Traktor volumes set to reasonably levels.

"Input Routing" no idea, but they are all set to 'not selected' but did try selecting a few of these, but considering it's input, doubt it needs touching.

Thanks guys, if someone can export their settings, or just screenshot or tell me what they have it set to would be greatly appreciated.

Or perhaps there's just a bug using the version I am on, Traktor Pro 1.2.4.

    Thanks gang. :D

Don't you love it when you write a big post then you work out the answer.

Looks like I didn't test assigning Output Routing -> Output Monitor L/R to Out 3 and Out 4... that got it functioning. or it's started working after a Traktor reboot!

Well there you have it, thanks anyway guys and good to meet you all!

Keep in mind the current version don't have hid support, so the platter control is all midi.

All the info is in these threads. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thanks for the quick reply. Are you talking about the current version of Traktor or your latest mappings not supporting HID? I noticed in the latest Traktor Pro release notes (1.2+) they state they have HID support now (although might just be particular to the Pioneer CDJ-400 as stated). So we can't utilise that yet? (sorry I also doubled this msg up on the project ns7 FB page earlier today too)

    I saw it mentioned here...

Cheers for your patience on us newbies ;)

100 members strong on Project NS7 now.

    @ Execute,

The current HID support implementation is for Pioneer devices only.

Thought as much, strange, here's hoping to HID support across the line. I guess starting with one device is easiest.
