And that is exactly why I sold my NS7...such a great hardware built with crappy software how sad :-( and even more sad that NI has down nothing to implement a software update they jerked us around like an ex girl friend...and this goes to show how forums don't do jack...60,000 views with 800 posts and they are not doing jack shhhh....argh I'm still pissed even though I don't own the ns7 anymore...its just so whacked that with all the technology and progress there is not an ns7 like product for TPro...whacked like a whack dj :-( NI is great software but SUX with hooking it up with platter support or a true hardware...slow like dial up just whacked!

So my question is, anyone who sold their NS7 are you going to re-purchase if support is added?

We'll have to see what the next major version brings. IMHO, version 1.2.5 was just a hotfix release really.

NI has really pissed me off... Rather than selling the NS7 I think I'm gonna request a refund for buying this useless Traktor Licence...

I bought it just to use with the NS7 and up 'till now I'm still waiting for miracles to happen...

DJ Quartz, I have followed your posts since the beginning and I can't believe NI hasn't even tried to give you a heads up on what to do...They're pathetic...

I can't stand using ITCH but funny enough I'm now a pro when using that **** software at gigs...

NI... Get your fingers out of your asses and read this thread...

What the hell did I pay for... I could have just gone to Demonoid.com

Let's just hope this post wakes someone up from hibernation....

Peace to everyone in the same boat...

I just picked up the V7's with hopes of using it with Traktor and this sucks... I don't understand how NI could release software only "Traktor Pro" and are not willing to make sure support is there for any midi controller or buyer wanting to use THEIR software... This is INSANE!

NI you really need to sort this out... i find it hard to believe that you dont support this technology... it wouldnt surprise me if they are working on a turntable of their own to monopolise on this segment of the market so only their HW works with traktor!

But that is just plain stupid... we want Nurmark support and WE want it now!

We know and have been waiting since the release of the NS7 and tbh I sort of gave up on this as it seems NI doesnt give a **** of what we say here.

    djQuartz,

Just to let you know I have got a V7 here for the next 5 mins unfortunately as the Numark rep is showing it off to us, i have it hooked to Traktor 1.2.5 and tried using the 'mixdeck' device option.

Obviously there is no mappings but as soon as i enable the mixdeck device option the V7 lights up. I tried mapping the jog wheel and platter myself but it seems to send midi data as 'pitch fader' (mixdecks attribute).

I tried as general midi device and it sends out midi data as Pitch Bend and CC000.

Just so that no-one gets the wrong impression... Native-Instruments has never said that they have any intentions to support these units (none that I have seen; if something has been said someplace like on-the-record, I must've missed it). Furthermore, Numark has never said that the units would even theoretically be compatible with anything other than Itch (it just so happens that it indeed is, but this is besides the point). The units were designed to work with Itch, not Traktor.

I don't see why people keep blaming NI for this... If I buy a set of Lamborghini rims, it is not Lamborghini's fault that they don't fit my Jaguar. Also, it is not the fault of the dealer who sold me the rimset. I am the only one to blame for being such an ass that I didn't do all the necessary checks before parting from my greens.

Its probably a contract thing, to sell more Itch with the units, once that is up then it will probably be unlocked to Traktor, and to be fair it will be in Numarks interest to get it working with Traktor which will definitely sell more units for them.

You hear no objection from me :) I just wanted to point it out, because some of the commenters appear to have wrong impression on some things...

Denon users have been waiting long time for Spinning Platter (or native) support for the DN-HS5500 and later for the DN-S3700, NI promise the support for DN-HS5500 will come in 2008 and they never did it, and to make things worse in the last "Traktor on The Record Sessions #19” (Feb-2-2010) they literally say the DN-3700 is not included in the next update for native support, and because both the S3700 and the HS5500 use the same MIDI/HID then for sure support for us Denon users will be non-existent in the short term.

Hopefully NS7 users are included in the next native support update, that at least will give us Denon users the chance for a manual mapping.

We really aren't blaming NI for anything other than ignoring some of it's most loyal users. If we didn't love the software so much then we would drop it however we will not settle for anything less than the best. This interface that Numark built is amazing! Wether it's the NS7 or the V7 - it's the best and probably only platter of it's kind. It's the benchmark. So it stands to reason that we all just want the best software to work with the best hardware. NI should be flattered that we are all jumping up and down like spoiled brats. "We want our software"! Our frustration stems from the fact that the midi menu in Traktor lacks only about 10 options that would make these controllers fully functional. Quartz even has a beta version that is fully functional if I understand correctly. I honestly wouldn't dream of doing a gig without Traktor and I have never used anything else and I personally would just like it if the company I so trust would reciprocate and feel towards us the way we feel towards them. "hey guys we have some loyal customers who need our support - let's support them" so far all we have gotten is nil. I'm still using Traktor and won't abandon it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong or if I left something out.

To clarify I know for certain numark announced that traktor and the NS7 would be compatible-was meant to be demo'd at one of the big trade show late 09-it was announced in their official newsletter!

Well, I went back to old threads on NI and Denondj forums and NI mention the support for the spinning platter and LCD display on the HS5500 was going to be release by the 2nd half of 2008 back in version 3! imagine that! We've been waiting this long and NI as lie to us and breaking promises, if they say otherwise well then where is the support?, this is the original NI thread saying about an aprox. ETA for spinning platter on the HS5500 support but now is deleted!

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67126

At least here are other threads documenting the “never arriving” release by NI back in 2008

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73798&highlight=HS5500
    http://www.denondjforums.com/forum/index.php?f=33&t=11251&rb_v=viewtopic

The Denon community has been waiting for years (and counting) for NI to deliver its promise, the Numark community has been waiting now for how long now? 1 year I think!

I wish you guys don’t end up like us, waiting and waiting and listening to NI saying “is coming”, “it will be supported”, etc. etc. and we listening to them just hoping! :(
