Well, Traktor 2 was released today. I haven't heard anything about NS7.

Does this mean that there is no chance?

Should I sell my NS7 and buy the traktor controller?

you beat me. Was about to ask the same thing. Quartz or any one that might have some connects can get any insights on this?

Actually, correction. I believe it was announced today for an April 1st release?

I'm guessing since they didn't announce V7 support in the new features for 2.0...that we are out of luck for the foreseeable future on native support. Such a shame...

lets wait for the demo and i know the mapping experts will give it a shot to see if its doable or not.

DJ Manuel Hope your right... If not I'll be using them as expensive midi controllers without platter control like I'm doing now.

    Website say:

Intuitive: Let TRAKTOR automatically detect and configure your audio interface and controllers.

So does this mean there will be a mapping for the V7's:)

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPb6s0xjxQw"]YouTube - Traktor with "Minimal" V7 Platter Control[/ame] Here is the minimal platter control I have so far... I also mapped other things thru Bomes like the pitch fader lights, strip search, phase meter light & a few other things.

^ I love the Traktor stickers covering the Itch badging...vast aesthetic improvement!

i've been working with the new Torq 2.0 version and have quite decent platter control (there is a clockwise sticker drift but you have to be pulling some very quick backcue maneuvers for this to be noticable), but a strange playback issue is causing tracks to jump back to the beginning so the software is not yet playable (with V7s).

i've also recently experimented with the demo of djdecks.be and found they also have a V7 mapping that has a few more options routed over Torq (i.e. start/stop time) but the platter accuracy is not quite scratch worthy.

but basically what i'm saying is that there is support out there, and Numark reps have posted in the Torq forums and provided some necessary scripts for device identification and more accurate tracking....so i'm forced to wonder why NI is ghost town on this issue? Currently there's less than 10 users reported in the Torq forum vs. the near 1000 posts from various users on this thread alone.

the one shining glimmer of hope i have is that TP2 is supporting some sort of HID protocol for the new NS6 and maybe this will lend some support to the NS7 and V7. now if only the demo would drop so we can find out (not to mention get famil with the new features).

Sadly, I tried the demo today and installed necessary drivers. I could be wrong, but it seems likely that NI has not done **** all about support for the V7 (which I tried out today) or the NS7 (as it closely resembles my equipment). It pisses me off how NI can't detect my hardware... But hey, maybe someone out there besides me can give it a shot. I'm just hoping that some smart hacker dude will come up with a beautiful solution.

Could someone else try this out?

    Peace.

Unfortunately I've given up - I've lent the NS7 out to a DJ who's just starting out - I've gone and bought the Kontrol S4 - A very expensive mistake IMO buying the NS7 - I even tired to sell it just before Christmas and had no takers - the thing is near immaculate as well.

That's exactly what they want us to do. I'm not giving up. The game is too expensive. Once NI sees how good the idea is they will support.

I wish you were right, I really do, however, It's been an ongoing issue for far too long now and I firmly believe that if NI and Numark were goingjump in bed together as far as the NS7 was concerned they would have done it by now.

    Just an idea:
Why not map the PitchBend MIDI Messages from the V7 with MIDI-OX to 14-Bit CC Messages? Seems to be not too difficult and MIDI-OX is known to work almost w/o latency. I will RTFM of MIDI-OX right now ;-) and try a little bit... already installed it and it works flawlessly with my WIN7PRO 64-Bit. Perhaps we will be faster than NI?

I thought about doing this myself but lacked the time to do so.

This should work. The only thing that might be difficult is the fact that 2 MIDI-messages are sent by the NS7/V7 for everything plattern-related.

The fact that the platterns move could become your worst nightmare.

Going with your idea is probably the best you can do. I've got a statement from NI regarding the NS7-support, but am not allowed to talk about it without violating my NDA.

    I see.
What I already did successfully was to filter all MIDI messages from the elements I want to map in T2 (loop section, crates, fx!) with MIDI-OX and route it to MIDI-mapper so ITCH doesn't get them but T2. Then I load the timecode wav in ITCH and have the rest done by T2 in scratch mode... this already works like a charm (I saw some demos on youtube but they all had the problem that everything You need BPM for was inactive, like autoloop...). But the disadvantage is You need T2 scratch certified hardware (no problem for me, I'm NI TRAKTOR scratch PRO user since the first versions, but it's not elegant at all).
So I can't understand why NI doesn't make an official statement, I own a lot of controllers, like the DENON SC-2000, the OTUS RAWs (my current gig hardware, I tweaked the platters to almost realtime and 14Bit resolution), but the V7 ist the one and only real deal for somebody who likes deck controllers and a mixer... this is definitively the turntable replacement. For somebody who likes to have an integrated console, the S4 is the controller to use. So the fact that NI doesn't support the V7 could mean that they work on their own professional deck controller, perhaps with motorized platters?
Come on NI, tell us what is going to happen ;-)) otherwise I think a lot of people will try VDJ7... it's not that bad, the pro version feels almost professional... so what I would suggest to NI is: SUPPORT AS MANY CONTROLLER HARDWARE AS POSSIBLE, AND AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, AND PLEASE TELL THE PEOPLE WHAT YOU ARE WORKING ON!
And if You need help, I'm software developer since 20 years now and I'm DJ the last 22 years... ;-) just kidding, Your software is great, I love T2.
    Regards, Chris
