Numark Omni Control mixer settings

Help!

My Numark Onmi Control doesn't work with traktor Pro!
only a few knobs work but most don't
It works fine woth Traktor LE so i guess i just need new mixer setings.

Does anyone has a working mixer file i can import?

someone just needs to make a good working mixer file that you can import in the preferences window. i don't know how to make one.

 

I thought it would work out of the box as their is a Omni Control tks in the Pro config files.

But alas, like you guys, need someone to make a new definition

I've been working on a Traktor Pro Omni Control .tsi - not quite to the standard spec but a hell of a lot more functionality than the one supplied by NI. Overlay document and further updates to the tsi are forthcoming....

I had the same problems with Omni Control - Traktor Pro Combi as quoted above... Omni Control worked fine on LE but not on Pro!

Anyway, I downloaded your .tsi spec and now some of the buttons work but not all. For example : the Cue & Set Cue buttons still don't work.

Are these the "further updates" that you were referring to?

Yeh - I haven't done those as yet. It looks like these buttons work differently to Traktor 3...? Again, i'll check it out and get back with an update soon. I too am new to all this so it's all a bit of a learning curve for me too!

Hi, thank you for the file. Yes, the same issue for me too. But one thing also is that no lights come on now, for me. With LE they do but not with the new file. I'm sure we'll get there though!

Hi guys, not really the same problem, but what it was is that i dont know how to connect the omni up to get a head phone mix. surely you dont need 2 amps.

i was hoping i could plug into my laptop via usb, connect the 2 rca outputs to a dj mixer which is connected to my hi-fi and that would be it.

any help on this would be much appreciated.

Guys, Traktor Pro comes with the settings you need!
Go to

Preferences > MIDI Mapping > Import (bottom left) > MIDI Mappings (folder) > NumarkOmniControl (folder) > then select the .tsi

It should now work pretty well, but still not 100% (wtf?), I've got some of the other stuff working, let me know if you want the settings.

The settings which come with Traktor Pro Demo are rubbish to be fair - not a lot of things work on it! I know how to import the Omni Controls settings and the tsi provided by NI/Numark is actually pretty poorly made. This is why I set about making my own.

If you've got any LED settings available, that would be appreciated. Cheers!

 

LED mapping issue

Hi,

I've started setting up some LED action, but gave up. Seems like the association between the LED and the button is all messed up.
For example:
To play deck A and get the LED on the Play button, I have to define the following...

Play/Pause - Deck A - Toggle - note G4
Play/Pause - Deck A - Output - note D4

...you can see the problem, in a normal situation it should be G4 for the LED and the action.
With ~40 LED to associate, this is a nightmare. Numark or NI please fix the mapping of the LED.

 

i can workaround most of the settings but the main thing that bugs me is the track button. if i click on it, the selected track starts previewing on the headphone but that way the headphone volume doesn't work so the preview blasts in my ear. stangely the headphone volume does work if i use the cue buttons instead but that's not the way it should work.

very sloppy work by numark... can the guys from NI help out?

 

I agree, the settings are rubbish, and they should all work - we bought their product after all & only want what we paid for!

I dropped an e-mail to the NI Technical Team to see if they are working on a solution for this compatability issue?

If they are, I will simply use Traktor LE again until the solution is found.

However, it is of course a bit of a bummer to buy and pay for an upgrade that doesn't actually work directly!

I will let you know as soon as I hear something.
