I would also like to have fine pitch

Edit: I just tried to mapp some of these buttons that are giving me the problems and when I press "learn" the result changes very quickly as if I´m pressing lots of buttons quickly one after another.
Hopefully somebody has seen a similar problem and can help me

4 decks custom mapping done! : i have completed a 4 deck custom mapping for the Omni Control for use with Traktor Pro 1.2 . It combines a 2 modifiers toogle buttons to make the left deck control the A and C deck , while the right deck controls the B and D deck, depending upon pressing the left deck modifier or the right deck modifier. using 2 modifiers lets you to mix between A and B deck (the traditional way) but enables the ability to mix between A & D ,B & C or C & D decks , All the volume faders, tempo, key, sync , eq controls , jog scratch wheel are "conditioned" through the modifiers. If someone is interested on testing this mapping, just reply me .

I have one mapping to use 4 decks. but i want to try others if you have. because i think my mapping have not good usability, because you have to hold a button with your and while you want to use 3 and 4 decks.
To do it i use a trick. I was open the tks file with "xml notepad" and i copy the controls of page one to page two. and before you just have to change button in page 1 to send you to page 2. and change the number of decks. remember the decks numbers is 0, 1,2,3. for 1234.

    Im spanish apologices for misteiks!

    ok guys, there is! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=80V7IV0K
the "modifier" buttons to change the layout for the left side is the button labeled in midi channel as A#3 (delay tap button) and the button for the right side is the one labeled D4 in the midi channel or the Sync button located below the "fine pitch" knob . they are programmed as toggle buttons, so you dont have to hold it for operate the C & D decks. When the buttons LED´s are on it means they are operating the C and D decks (respectively left and right LEDs)

    @ Miles Hi:

I have the same problem that my Omni Control is going totally mad. Effects and Mid Kill are "automated"... Do you solve the problem or do you know what causes the problem?

Awesome! I've been waiting for somethng like this for a loooong time (April 2009 when i got the Omni). I just picked my Omni up from a repair shope (there was a high-pitched buzzing... technician said circuit baord was overheating, so he repalced it... testing it out tonight... it better work, I got 2 gigs this week!), I will try this TSI out tongiht and leave feedback.

    Thanks in advance Freddy!

    Hi Guys,

I had a hell of a time setting up my OMNI but now I've worked it all out I'm really please with it. I'm running Traktor Scratch Pro 1.2.4 on a macbook pro.

Anyone who's having problems please feel free to PM me, I'll be happy to help.

As a starter, don't make the mistake I did and forget to change the input port and output port in the midi mapping section of the preferences to Numark USB rather than All Ports! The result was an exciting but not very useful array of flashing lights and controls going mad.

I've attached my mapping file. You may or may not like it, but it works for me! I've turned the browser knob button into a modifier for the jog wheels so that they can't be knocked accidentally, this is easy to remove. The cue buttons act as beat phase monitors (flash with the beat) and the set sue buttons light up when the jog wheels are active. The Load A/B buttons light up when the track is nearly finished (when the deck on screen starts flashing), and the directory button toggles full screen browser. The pitch bend buttons activate FX1 and 2 on the respective decks; I use a chained setup on FX1 and advanced delay on FX2. Fiddle with the knobs and it'll become clear which ones do which! D/W for FX1 is on the right side of the mixer.

The weirdest thing I've done is a bit of an experiment, using the F3 note button (right side, top middle nearest EQs) as a toggle modifier which turns the pitch bend and loop in/out buttons on the right deck into hot cue buttons. This means that you can set up to 4 hot cues in a song and use those 4 buttons as samplers (try it with harder better faster stronger, it may be a bit old school but it's great fun xD) it uses cues 2-5 since 1 is normally the start of the song. Again this is easily removable, just remove anything that's using modifier 2 in the list.

Whether you're trying mine or making your own, I've also attached jpegs of the midi notes for knobs/buttons and LEDs on the omni. I forget who first posted these but they've been invaluable to me, thanks to whoever it was!

    Good luck with your mapping.

    i need some help.

i have traktor pro 1.2 running on windows 7 ultimate 32bit.

Initially it took me about an hour to get the omni working BUT it still isn;t fully functional. the right hand side FX select and FX on/off buttons and associated rotaries/pots dont work. they light up when pushed but they dont do anything in traktor,.

I dont want to change the whole layout as i like the standard one but would also like the rigght hand saide fx stuff to work, any ideas?

also I have a M-Audio O2 midi keyboard I would like to set up as a controller for "Advanced FX" so I can have four buttons as the trigger buttons and 4 rotary pots as the 4 parameter controllers. I tried to do this through "Midi LEARN" but it messes up the omni control mapping as I am guessin (my knowledge of midi is next to nothing) there is some crossover between midi channels between the O2 and the omni. Is there anyway round this?

    any help is much appreciated.

I'd just redo the FX2 section in the mapping, delete everything assigned to FX2 and start that bit from scratch. You can then decide exactly what you want each button/knob to do, don't forget to make sure you assign the note to the right side and make sure that if it's an advanced section you use advanced commands etc. Use the LED note image in my previous post to find the right LEDs for your output commands.

You simply need to set it up as a new device (device > add > generic midi) then check that both input and output ports are set to the correct device. Then there shouldn't be a crossover.

I use the Omni Control and a USB MIDI Device for sending the Clock to a second computer for syncronizing with Ableton. I added two Generic Midi:

    1. Omni Control with IN=Omni Control and OUT=Omni Control
    2. USB MIDI with IN:none and OUT:USB MIDI CABEL

But my Omni Control does strange things like sending midi messages automatically...

Do you have any idea what i'm doing wrong?

thanks for the advice, I did try and reassign FX2 to advanced but it made the omni go crazy and changed other settings.

i did set up the O2 as suggested but again it messed up the omni as some of the notes on the keyboard and channels are same number on some of Omni. will try again tonight when back from work and will let you know if i get it to work.,

    thanks again for the help

    Hy there!

I'm new signed up here, but im reading in this forum quiet a long while.

I'm using Omni Control with Traktor 3 pro, cause in my opinion is the easiest and best controller to use, if you know how!;)

As some of you know there are almost no good mappings arround which allows 4 decks playing with only one Omni Control.
So I have a complete own made map using 4 decks and 4 FX units. Each deck has his FX unit and it works great!

If many people are interested in my map, I can upload it!

    cheers!
