Numark Omni Control mixer settings

Wait there must be a very big mistake!

Omni works the best with Pro! You just need to Import the TSI (Mapping File) from official site of Numark.

LE is just a small demo of Pro and don't use the potential of the Omni!

 

I am not many - thats for sure,

but 4 Decks... that would be really nice. I'm really sick of using my mouse meanwhile i try to handle my Omni...

Would be very nice, if you upload your mapping AND give some hinds how it works.

Honestly im too lazy writing down all buttons and function, so that's just the summary of my mapping file:

- I modified the ORIGINAL TSI file given from the Numark site.
- Full functionally working 4 Decks. Pitch bend + and - is to switch each side to Deck A to C and Deck B to D.
- Full functionally working 4 FX units. When you change to a deck, automatically it changes also the FX unit. That way you can have for each deck different effects at the same time!
- Sync button LED blinks at the time of the beat. (Just for fun and making the omni more living)

Finally my mapping is very good if you need 4 decks and use alot of FX.
I don't have any cue points selection at all, I gonna use a separate nanopad for that.

I say that every omni user should modify the original tsi on his own. If you don't know how, just try it out with the original file. Like this you will learn alot how your controller works and what it can!
When you finally are good at that, you can do everything with your midi!

 

Hello people.
Now you can download my 4 decks tks file, for traktor 3 made by me!
The "page" button change decks 1&2 to 3&4 while you hold.
And the function "page", now is pulse left key.
it have effects and several things... very easy, i think no one will have problems to use it.
I think it works fine. if someone wants to improve it, go ahead. And feedback me please.

Esto es el mapper para traktor 3. Solo es bajar y cargarlo. Está hecho por mi.
Funciona a 4 platos la mesa, si mantienes pulsado "page" funcionan el 3&4, cuando no estas apretando el 1&2.
La función que hacia antes "page" ahora lo hace el boto "key" izquierdo.
Funciona con efectos en cada canal. Y bueno, no creo que nadie tenga problemas para entenderlo como funciona.
Yo creo que funciona bien, si alguien quiere mejorarlo, adelante, que luego me pase una copia. XD

I got Trakor Pro with Omni Control running on pc. I got everything working well after getting some tsi files off of this site. Thanks Much. I am a newbie in the DJ world.

Can someone help me with being able to scratch when I spin the wheel versus it slowing down the track or speeding up the track?

Thanks for the post regarding the blinking lights as my Omni was going through the same firework show and I had no idea what was going on. I'm going to try and implement the fix on when I am home.

I have a simple question regarding mapping. Basically, how do you do it? I dont need a detailed write-up, but if you know of a good link with posts/video or website that would be great. I just dont know where to start. I would assume once I know where to start, I can figure the rest out.

Nevermind. I think I found something on YouTube that was helpful. I didnt know it was as easy as entering the preferences and going through the mapping one by one...I had just purchased Traktor Pro the other day, so forgive me for not looking at the prefs first...

 

Fullenglishpint and/or anyone,

I'm still having an issue with the blinking lights and such. I listened to your post and changed the input to the Omni Control under the mapping screen and it still is blinking at will. Can you or anyone let me know what else I may be doing wrong? The controller worked the very 1st time I used it - after that the blinking light show started.

If all else fails, I'll do a uninstall/re-install.

I know this isnt truly the forum for this, but I wanted to respond to my open issue as it has been resolved thanks to the NI support team.

Recap - Issue with Omni Control and Traktor Pro - Blinking Lights on Midi

Resolution - First, make sure (if you are using 1.2.6 on a MacBook) to access Traktor via MacHD - Apps - Native Instruments - Traktor. Second, once Traktor is open and your Omni Control is hooked up, go to Preferences and then Controller Manager - under devices make sure that you choose generic midi (numark omni...) and that the input / output is set to Numark NOT all ports. Setting this to all ports will propose an issue. Next and/or if that doesnt work, make sure you only have one midi under the device list. If you have more than one midi, delete them both and import the .tsi file for Omni Control.

The kicker...if all else fails as it did for me...go to MacHD - Applications - Utilities - Audio MIDI Setup. Under the midi tab go to IAC driver. First, make sure the device is offline. Then go to ports and click the minus button if you see Bus1. That was the issue with mine.

Now go back to Traktor Pro, hook up the Omni and go to preferences. Go to the Controller Manager and Device. Highlight the Generic Midi and delete it. Import the .tsi of your choosing or the default for Omni Control (NOT the one for Omni Control LE) and you are set.

can someone PLEASE help me ?

I am unable to get my Omni Control to produce any sound out of the Master outs 1 & 2

I am running a Win 7 64bit, latest version of Traktor Pro, I have downloaded the Win 7 64 bit drivers from Numark and installed. I have loaded everything according to instructions, selected Omni Control as controller, Monitor on 3 & 4 Master on 1 & 2, and loaded the NI Omni Control .tsi.

Everything seems to work correctlly except my Master Audio Out. HEadphone cue works, knobs, lights, etc. I can plug may master speakers into the 3 & 4 outputs and it will work with the phone volume ... just nothing on 1 & 2

any ideas on a step I am missing?

Hello. I'm looking for map to Omni Control ORGINAL to this layout in Traktor Scratch Duo. Please map witch the same functions on controller (the same at Traktor LE witch map Omni Control LE).

 

how to change a few mappings

i want to know if i could change the pitch bend buttons into loop buttons so i can change the length of the loops instead of using my mouse. if so can sum1 tell me how cos i have no idea how to change the mappings properly

 

just go to controller manager

select omni control as device in the drop down menu

then:

click: add in->cue/loops->loop size

assignment: deck A
click learn (the next button you press will be the mapped button) then press pitch bend - on the omni control left side.
type of control: button
interaction mode: dec

then basically do the same stuff for the other assignments
pitch bend + should increment

 

4 deck mapping improved

If you are familiar with my maps, you know that i have posted like 3 or 4 months ago a 4 deck mapping with "soft takeover" on the sliders and faders to prevent the decks to jump inmediately to the preset volume or pitch of the previous deck.. some of you asked for an improvement about the loop size change. Here is : the key lock button is changed and now you can decrease loop size with the key buttons on each deck. and you can increase loop size with the "loop" button just below the "-" pitch bend button. To activate the loop you use the "cue" botton located just below the "+" pitch bend button.. The integration with the 4deck layout is complete, so each button is mapped depending on the deck you are controlling (for new comers, i explained in an older post in this very same thread about hoy to use my old 4 deck mapping, please read it first) . hope that it helps to minimize the keyboard use!

 

Controls for FX

My effects are set as chained, so you can select three effects at one time. What i have a problem with is i have to use my computer mouse in order to select any of the effects or to change them. Is their a way to select and change the effects with my omni control?

 

Add in > FX chained > Effect 1 (or whichever) select

assignment is your chosen FX bank, type is button, mode is direct

set value to: your chosen effect.

repeat for other effect slots to make a full effect bank preset.
