    Hey good people,

I've been using a Numark Omni Control for a while with Traktor Pro but about a week ago it very suddenly stopped working, like overnight none of the buttons/lights works in Traktor.

The Omni Control Panel says that USB is connected so it's not dead that way. I've tried re-installing the driver & Traktor, I've tried 4 different .tsi's...nothing, Omni Control and Traktor are not on talking terms anymore. It's NOT like I've been throwing the controller around the room, it worked fine one evening, next morning I got an idea for a mix and BAM! it's dead to Traktor.

I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit and I'm suspecting that the controller has broken down internally in some way. Anyone think this can be fixed (anyone had the same happen to them?) or should I just return it?

Thanks for your input & time!

    strange that mate

have you tryed using the omni as a sound card while running windows media player ? sure way to find out if its the omni.

sounds silly but did u route the audio in and outs after re-installing?

have u just updated traktor to 1.22?

have you tryed a different usb cable?

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Tested the sound card in Media Player and it works! So the controller probably isn't busted. I did check the sound routing an extra time but it is as it should be.

Now I'm thinking it could be the newest version of Traktor (1.2.2) OR a windows update, I got both around a week/week and a ½ - the time when the controller stopped working.

What is weird to me is I haven't seen anyone else here posting about having this issue - can someone who's on Vista 32-bit & Traktor version 1.2.2 tell me if their Omni Control is still working?

i had the same problems with the same set up as you, most things worked but a few didnt.

i un-installed taktor installed it all back on and then it all worked fine.no need to un-install omni but remove the usb from laptop while re-installing taktor.

remeber to do the audio routing after re-installing.thats in the numark quick setup booklet that came with the omni.

the udate and tsi files will still be in your documents window unless you moved them but i didnt need to redo the tsi file it was still there.

    good luck mate

    what music do you dj?

Thanks for the suggestions but this didn't work either. I've tried both versions 1.2.2 & 1.2.1 (and I'm 100% sure it used to work under 1.2.1) & re-reouting again - nothing.

I listen to pretty much every genre that's happening right now so I try to make varied sets as I personally hate 2 hours of straight tech-house for instance. Haven't played out that much yet but that's mainly because I live in the middle of nowhere.

Kind of losing hope on this controller, I'll see if anyone has any other suggestions and wait for the next update to see if things go back to normal.

i know what you mean i live in the middle of nowhere to, but im into techno so soon found others into it at techno nights.

Hey SideEffect, I've tried all possible combinations of settings for the In/Out ports, not doing anything either.

I got the mixer back on Friday after getting it repaired at the store where I bought it so it's no wonder that none of the suggestions on here didn't do anything as it was indeed broken.
