I have been offered the above controller for £100 (pretty resonable price I think) and I want to map it to Traktor Pro 2 which I have been using for a while now. Thing is and before I buy it, I'm wanting to know if anybody has any experience with this set up and if so, how easy/difficult is it to map?

The reason I ask is because earlier in the year, I bought a Behringer BCD2000 and nearly ended up throwing it throw the window because it was so difficult to map. In the end I just gave up.

I don't want to find myself in that position again if I buy the Omni so thought I would try and get some advice off here before I part with my cash.

Any info/advice at all would be much appreciated

    Cheers!

    Hi Micky,

The Omni controller is very easy to map and there are a lot of ready to use maps available in the internet. I have the Omni and can send some customized maps to you if you want, check the Dj TechTools site as well, they have some good tutorials.

    Regards

    Leo,

If you could, that would be very much appreciated. I'd be looking for something that also incorporates the FX as well if possible. Basically just using the controller as it is laid out. I'll also check out that DJ Techtools website too. Thanks

What's your opinion of the Onmi controller, would you recommend it? It looks like a pretty solid piece of kit from what I've seen

    Positives:
    It solidly built.
It sounds fine (to my ears).
Lots of controls than can be mapped.
    Smallish footprint.
The EQ knobs double as kill switches.

    Negatives:
Jog wheels are not touch sensitive.
It can feel a little cramped when compared to other controllers.
There are a lot of endless rotary knobs.

I had the Omni before I bought the Denon DN MC 6000.
The Numark is solid enough for home use and sometimes "outdoor" use. And very simple to setup (no external power supply needed), and a built in 2x stereo soundinterface.

Of course, for ~200,- EURO you can't get a super pro equipment

Don't know if you ever went for this option...

I would echo the sentiments of the guys above. I had a couple of issues with the mapping but i think they were down to my impatience if i'm honest :) (check my post)

I now enjoy the set up but it is a touch cramped for my hands. When my budget (and my wife) allows i will be upgrading to something slightly better.

Hi there, sorry to jump in on your convo, but i have recently got a omni controller, its actually really good, but the pre set mapping isnt what i want, an imhaving real difficulties sorting it out,, its pretty much mapped to how i want, except i want to change the pitch bend buttons to loop bar amount, so i can just hit loop an it loop for that many bars, so i dont have to loop it back out, and then i can go up and down loop amounts, also i have set cue and cue in, but it does not cue recall, so i cant set a cue,and then jump back to it from later in the song, also i wanted to setup one of the key buttons, to actually be a beat tapper, because i have problems with some dubstep songs at 140, showing up at 70, and visa versa, and if i dont notice and use autosync ( cheating i know ), then theres problems with song playing double or half speed unnexpectedly,, other then this i love it,, im wondering if you have any maps that youve created to get around these issues,, ive spent weeks tryna midi map, and im just stupid is my conclusion,, thanks, and sorry for the novel worth of writing :)
