Nuo 4 vs. Xone42. Thoughts, guys? In the market and thinking about either one. Just wanted some first-hand info on sound quality, build, etc.

I'd say that You get what you expect for their cost for both.

The A&H is more "Spartan" but has probably a better overall audio and and build quality. While the Nuo 4 has more features (Like midi assignations etc) but is probably weaker on the audio side. However, the NEcler Nuo series is still a very good choice and are very good products.. The dilemma here is like choosin between an European or Korean car which will have similar performances but with little weaknesses and more options for the second one :)

I thought that the Nuo 4 was discontinued actually.

It is. 4.0 is the current model, and to my knowledge it has no MIDI functionality anymore.

Sorry, I was referring to the 4.0, which has no MIDI functionality. I did see, much to my chagrin, that the Xone only has phono assigned to channels 1 and 4. It might sound trivial, but that is gonna bug the hell out of me.

Dont let him do that. He took the words out of my mouth once. Before i could say hey can I have my words back he had gone through my pockets and eaten the contents of my fridge.

That man could peel an orange wearing boxing gloves.

Funny enough I just ate an orange for dessert like 15 minutes ago.

While the 42s build quality is amazing, it seems even more sturdy than the 92 especially on the eqs and gains, the sound quality is not so good as the 92. Its still great, probably better than all the pioneer mixers, but not the same with the 92.

Just wanted to clarify that, but anyway, after 1 year of 6 nights a week with the 42, I would say go for it, its a great deal for its money.

i apologize for not making my response clear, however, i would assume most people would interpret just the word "decks" as vinyl. anyhoo, i am not sure how either one would make a difference in reference to sound quality. i have decided against the xone, though. the phono on channel 1 and 4 only killed it for me.

thats why i was asking whehter you used vinyl or cds, no point in really worrying about only two phonos if you used cds. but since you use vinyl i see your standpoint!
