NY, Berlin, Vienna Concert Grands CC7 also moving coarse tuning

    Hi there,

    Stumped on this. With Cubase 6, NY, Berlin, Vienna Concert Grands CC7 also moving coarse tuning. This does not happen with RTAS version but does with standalone. Only on these 3 products of my entire library. Tuning has no 'learned' CCs.

    Anyone have any ideas on this?

    Could you please explain in more detail? "Also moving course tuning" isn't even a complete sentence, so I can't quite tell what's going on.

    Absolutely. CC7 is volume control. With these three piano modules, when I adjust (on the mixer etc.) volume, the "Tune" knob, (which can either be coarse tuning, or fine tuning) moves with the volume. (The tune knob just to the left of the output meters in any loaded library.)

    Only with these three libraries of the 50 or so I have.

    Better? My apologies for not being clearer.

    Yes indeed, that helps a lot.

    Bizarre -- never heard of this happening.

    First thing I'd suggest doing is opening up a MIDI track, hitting record, and playing a few notes along with some MIDI CC#7. Then inspect your track with an event list editor -- what I want to make sure of, 100%, is that your controller isn't sending anything besides notes and CC#7's. There's a possibility it's sending something weird in addition to that, that might cause that behavior.

    Otherwise, I'm stuck.

    The fact that you say it happens with standalone but not RTAS leads me to believe your controller might be sending something weird, and that Pro Tools is filtering it on input for you.

    And only those specific patches? Nothing else in Kontakt? (Try a dozen or so other instruments, just to be sure.)

    Tested and the controller is only outputting CC7. This is why I'm completely baffled.

    Same issue on all patches from the three instruments only. Oddest behavior I've ever seen from Kontakt. Luckily I just have the volume learn CC1 and use the mod wheel for volume. But when I forget, It's freaks me out every time to have the pitch move up/down.

    Thanks for the help any way. If no one else has an idea, I'll contact NI and see what they think.
