Please use this thread for the discussion of issues related to setting storing and using Cues, Hotcues, Loops and BeatJumps. If you are hving problems related to setting up MIDI controls for these commands please take that to the MIDI Construction thread. This discussion is for Traktor Pro and and Scratch Pro issues.

    • If you are new to Traktor Pro and MIDI control, before posting please at least scan the thread to see if your question is asked and answered. We reserve the right to politely berate you for not doing so first.

    • This area is for (Hot)Cues Loops and Jump issues for Traktor Pro and Scratch Pro. We'll moderate issues asking for answers to Traktor 3 MIDI questions. We will cover matters relating to migration from T3 to Pro versions here.

    • Please do not keep bleating about T3 commands not working with Pro versions. It doesn't work today because the whole area has be radically reworked to make quantized jumps and hotcues work properly. Adding backwards compatibility was simply not possible or practical.

    • Keep to the topic for this thread, off topic items may be moderated.

Fade in and out markers are what you are looking for they are selectable.

turn on the advanced panel for a deck.
Set a Cue in the right location in the track by clicking on the CUE button beside PLAY.
Now you can select / change the Cue type. Just to the left of the trash bin in the advanced is a drop list in th last are items Fade in and out chosse the one you want.
In preferences, Loading | Loading enable the fade in fade out check box. that should get you what you need.

Mapping individual Hot Cue buttons to midi control

So I am having a lot of trouble figuring out how to assign the individual hot cue buttons to individual drum pads on trigger finger. I went into the keyboard mapping and saw that hot cue selection was an option. I tried this out on the keyboard and this is exactly what I would like to do with the midi controler, but when I tried assigning hot cue selection to the trigger finger I got no response.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    ---
Ok so I kept digging and I found the answer. For those that might be interested. Once you assign the midi control to hot cue selection THEN you must go to button options at the bottom of the midi mapping browser and select which Hot Cue you want the button to control.
    Brilliant!

And Phil- thanks for all your help in getting the various pleas of desperate dj's sorted out.
Back to the land of midi for me!

Where is the problem? I've tested them with Xponent and works in a wonderful way (like i wished).
Suppose to have 5 buttons for hotcues (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)
and 1 button for (Set) function

    This is the MIDI assignment:
    (Set) - Map HotCue
    (1) - Select Hotcue (Set To Value HotCue 1)
    (1) - Cue Set + Store
    (2) - Select Hotcue (Set To Value HotCue 2)
    (2) - Cue Set + Store
    (3) - Select Hotcue (Set To Value HotCue 3)
    (3) - Cue Set + Store
    (4) - Select Hotcue (Set To Value HotCue 4)
    (4) - Cue Set + Store
    (5) - Select Hotcue (Set To Value HotCue 5)
    (5) - Cue Set + Store

If u press (N) button u will jump to HotCue N, if u press (SET) and (N) button u will set (N) Hotcue.
Now i'm looking for best loop midi assignments.
    See ya later

    Enjoy

Ok maybe I've gone blind from all that reading about TSP but I have a problem.
I can't seem to find the cue & cup buttons. I mean they should be next to the play button when you are in internal mode, right? the thing is that they aren't.

I can't set a cue point. I tried different layouts thinking that when in perform mode it makes sence that they are replaced by -relative,absolut-. I set it at advance view, pressed play a thousand times making sure I am at internal mode but nothing.

I am sure that when I find it I am going to feel very stupid but please someone tell me what to do.
    thanks

Also want to say that I am trying to edit tracks that are in my collection. In status bar it doesn't say -not editable- like when browsing the iTunes folder.

Maybe because audio8 is connected and it doesn't let me set cues? but that doesn't make sence.

yeah its sweet especially for Sample Mashups. Load a track into a deck with 30 odd samples in Set Hotkeys your hotkeys and mashaway. As you go you simply change to a new sample hit a hotkey and map this sample to a new hotcue slot... rinse repeat. Everything from 8 beat drum samples to spoken word, the crowd goes nuts everytime.

    Hot looping...

In Traktor 3.x I could manually set the loop length (4, 8, 16, 32 etc) and then simply hit the "loop*4" button on my VCI-100 to immediatley start a hot-loop of the pre-selected length at the moment I hit the button. I don't seem to be able to get the same thing to happen with Trakor Pro.

    Any ideas please?

    Cheers :)

    ATTENTION PLS...
This map crash the program (sometimes only the gui) if u press the buttons fast . This is cos i think Cue set+lock function have to be assigned in a different way (probably using a different midi page for set)...i will test soon. Cya later (i will come back also with loop midi assignment)

Yes... good Lord, plz find attached a sample keyboard preset that has what you need in it.
1/ Single hotkey press - Cue set Store HotCue Mapping
2/ Single Hotkey press delete current cue
    3/Move to previous Cue
    4/ Move to next cue
5/ Single Hotkey press set loop size and make active
6/ Single Hotkey Press Store current loop

By rights it should be possible to combine and achieve 5 and 6 on 1 hotkey.

Save your current Hotkeys before importing my sample. It contains only the entries you see above.

Ive been trying out these Load markers but found a problem for me. If i go into a loop - how to get back to the load marker at the start of the track, is there a hotkey/midi i can map to?

Its a bit of a pain to have to scroll all the way back to the beginning of the track and then click on the load marker

Its the only way i can do it as cues dont work properly for me - everytime i load a track the cuepoint has moved to slightly before the downbeat :(

im just learning cues and have question in regards to setting hotcues and beatgrids.

I beatgrid my track, locked and this takes up my first hotcue position. I thought I could simply beatgrid and lock and it wouldn't affect my hotcues - does anyone know if im doing it wrong?

id prefer to have my firsthotcue free.
