Well pier, its been a long time since you posted this question, so i doubt you'll get it. But ive found a workaround for this, and ive got a feeling it'll be useful for others too.

If you want to map a loop to a hotcue on the fly when beat juggling or whatever. Firstly map the hotcue to the desired button, then map the 'set loop' function to that button also, but make sure the 'invert' option is ticked too.
What this'll do is jump to the hotcue when you press the button and set a loop when you release it. If you also map the play function in the 'transport' section to this button your track will carry on playing the loop. Then go & mess about with your effects or something. Been having a lot of fun with this recently :D

    Hey!
I'm all new ti the midi mapping world (Using the Numark Omni control). Im going for a basic mapping in my first try, and got pretty much all the basics sort out (play, cue, load etc.)

    Now for the loops.
I wanna be able too scrool between loop sizes (maybe my jog wheel?) and, then hit another butten (the loop button) for loop activate/deactivate.

    I've tried this so far.

    - Add inn: Cue/loops
    - Loop size
    - Assignment Deck A
    - Learn (jog wheel)
    - Exit.

But i only seem to be able to switch between 32 and 1/32 (the first and the last loop size)

I've tried adjusting the sensetivity, but it does not seem to work.

    Please help

Without going into detail, I recommend to use two buttons instead of a jogwheel first, so you don't have to hazzle around with knob/fader/direct/relative/sensitivity settings. Make these buttons increase/decrease buttons.
When this works, you know your midi-assignment are correct. You can stll switch to a jogwheel thing then...

    hey there,

I used traktor 3 for a long time. There was a feature that I really liked... example: you could create a one beat loop, you could then make that loop move 4 beats. The song would play until it reached the new position of the loop, and be looped again.

I've recently upgraded to traktor pro and I'm wondering if it is possible to do the same thing? When I tried instead of playing until it reached the new position of the loop it just jumped straight there. I hope this makes sense and someone understands...

    Thanks

    Steven

I really should read all the forum stickies......ooops...I posted this to another thread in the forum.

I'm still pretty new to Traktor/MIDI. I have been having problems trying to map hotcues to my controller (MPD18), but I've finally figured it out. I thought I would share in case this would help anybody else. Also, if you have any hints/tips/tricks/corrections for mapping please help me out and let me know:

    Traktor Pro 1.2.4

    1) Open Preferences & go to Controller Manager

    2) Select "Generic MIDI" in the Device Drop Down

    3) Click "Add In"

    4) Go to "Cue/Loops" and select "Select/Set+Store Hotcue"

    5) Click "Learn" and press the button on your controller where you want to store Hotcue #1

    6) Under "Button Options" set the value to HotCue 1

    7) Then you can click "Duplicate", press the Hotcue #2 button on your controller, and change the "Button Option" value to HotCue 2

    8) Repeat for HotCue 3 and HotCue4 (or map all 8 HotCues if you want)

I hope that makes sense. If not, in the Traktor Manual (doc ver 1.3) check pages 158 & 159.

    Hi all :)

I had a bit of a search about but can't seem to find a good answer to this... Is there any way of looping and then changing the loop size and always anchoring the end point..i.e halving but keeping the end point not the start... I have tried even using mapping and modifiers but there are not enough modifier options...

    Any Ideas?

    Cheers,
    St.

No worries.. I have sussed it with huge use of key multi mapping, logic and modifiers, little convoluted but it works great! Think the list of modifier options should be FAR larger tho, would make the software even more super powerful!

    Cues disappear!

Ok.... here we go. I browsed this thread and didnt find my answer.

My cues disappear every time I type in the comments area. This is what Im doing.
Im viewing my music from the Explorer folder structure.
I load a song from the Explorer folder.
    TSP analysis.
I set my cues, Load cues, fade out cues by just clicking on the hot cue buttons, assigning the type of cue, type in the name of the cue.
AND THAT SHOULD BE IT RIGHT?

    NOW,
As soon as I type something in the comment area of the track info
BOOOM! The CUE points i set disappear..
Now is there a proper way of storing cues?
Better yet, is there a bulletproof way of saving the cues?
Should I be doing all of this from the Track Collection area?
Another thing I've noticed is that when I do get lucky and cues do store, my playlists dont get updated.

**when doing all of this. Im not hooked up to the audio8 box. and im playing in internal playback mode.

Thanks for any advice in advanced. Its frustrating.

Im on a MacBook Pro 1.83ghz, MAC OS 10.5.8, 2gb RAM, Traktor Scratch Pro 1.2.4,

Briefly scrolled through and couldn't find any answers....

What I want to do is have a knob (using korg nano kontrol) control the in/out of a loop in realtime. Would I need to use modifiers? I've done some basic assigning like the effects and their parameters and cues, but that's it. A brief explanation of what to do in laymens would be appreciated. I looked through the midi screen, but couldn't find anything. It might have been there as something I didn't notice, or misunderstood? I am a little Midi challenged.

Hi, I'm trying to figure this out: is there a way (or a Midi-command) Traktor can recognize the difference between a stored regular cue & a stored loop, so that when hotcue 1 is a stored regular cue, it starts playing normally, but when hotcue 1 is a stored loop, it starts playing in looped mode?

I have the same problem man! Not with every track, but just enough of them to be annoying. I reload tracks I've cued and looped from weeks back and they seem to either have everything missing or only a cue here and a loop there, but never in the right place or length. And it's not like I've been shuffling the files around my computer, they've stayed put with no interference so I don't see how they could've got corrupted. Looks buggy to me.

I also use the comments field extensively so when you brought up comment editing it raised a flag...is anyone else experiencing this?

It's super frustrating to think that after putting the time into preparing a track all the work can mysteriously disappear! I need to trust Traktor but with this bug I have no faith in my cues and loops appearing when I load a track. Help!
