    Hi everybody,

First of all, I have news about the in-store date of Kore 2. The full version will officially be available from November 15th on.

The Kore 2 software update for Kore 1 owners will be available two weeks earlier, on November 1st. Due to the included 5 GByte sample library for the integrated instruments, it will be a physical, boxed update.

I am also enclosing a preview of the Kore 2 screen interface. It has been tweaked and optimized quite a bit since the software was first shown in April. I hope you will agree that our designers put the additional development time to good use :)

    Regards, Thomas

Question from someone owning Komplete 5. Do you need to instal the sample library in order for the Kore sounds that rely on the integrated instruments to play? I sincerely hope not! Between Komplete 5 and Logic Studio I have no room left on my disks for my own samples and songs!

Another odd question.... are the Kore integrated instruments installed by default? Is it not a bit redundant to instal a Reactor engine if you have Reactor? Or, would it be possible to instal only what is needed to reduce redundancy and save hard disk space?

As far as I know, you do. At least I haven't found a lot of the samples in my K2 or K3 libraries.
Yes they are. However, the integrated engines are just the plugins; it's less than 200 MB for the engines.

    So, unless the engines are
addressing K4 or K5 libraries, which is quite
possible, then you have answered the question :p
Hey, maybe you are right, but it doesn't help me
much. Not trying to be mean or anything, but Kontact 3
came with 17GB of extra content. So that's 17GB that
might be able to be used for the integrated
    engines......

It's too bad IMO, but I bet the
Reactor engine loads faster than a Reactor .ksd that
    doesn't use the engine.
Those 250MB applications add up quick, I have 9.5GB in my Application folder on the desktop computer!

Thankfully drive space is very cheap these days. I'm quite happy to buy some extra space for worthwhile content.

How and when will I be able to get the info on how this process is going to work ? Im really excited about kore 2, after playing in kore 1 this weekend I cant wait to use the new features in 2. Thanks for the Update, TM,
    screenshot does look good, indeed!

Did you mean one can place orders on Nov. 1st, or it is dispatched already? If so, where can I place my order?

    on harddisc space:

as my notebook drive only is 80GB (no chance to install KOmplete 5 there...), I will be very happy to use the smaller KORE library on the notebook, and the full Komplete 5 on the home computer..--)))

Absolutley mate. The very same question that was on my lips. I just bought the Kore 1 too for the same reason, so indeed, will the update be automatically shipped to us NI?

    Cheers,

    Aj.

The Kore 2 software only update should be sent to you automatically assuming you have done all of the following:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=kore1gpo&ftu=c5ae96f3932ab4b

    1) Activated Kore 1 between April 1, 2007 and the official release of Kore 2
    2) make sure your official NI contact information is correct (correct email, correct mailing address)

    Hi MartinHines,

It only actually says 'You receive the KORE 2 Software update cost free, as soon as it becomes available.' No mention of making sure your contact information is correct, or that they will ship it to you infact. Well anyway, lets hope your right. I'm all up to date!

    Cheers.

    Again my question to NI:

I own KORE 1 since summer 2006, how can I order the software-only upgrade to KORE 2, so I have it in my hands as soon as possible (handfull of gigs in November...)?

...that new GUI looks really gorgeous - could that graphic designer rework the Kontakt 3 GUI, please?

Why would it? You're still loading the Reaktor shell, and then an ensemble into that. From what I've heard, there's no load time difference at all.
