Kind of annoying, but only about 40% of my old beat grids stayed accurate during the transition.

I've been re-doing beatgrids all weekend

One thing that I can't figure out is how to get my old import dates. After importing my old collection file somehow or another all of my import dates in Traktor Pro got changed to 11/2, which sucks because I liked to know how long ago I purchased these tracks.

If you are seeing this gridding issue please post here describing how the grids are off. Are they WAAAAY off or just slightly?
Are you seeing patterns in the degree they are off?
Are you seeing blatantly obvious BPM detection errors? Off by half or double?
Are you seeing 0.000 BPM for imported T3 gridded tracks?

    Question

I'm a little confused about writing grid/cue info to my mp3s since there is no longer a 'write to tag' button.

Does Traktor Pro do this automatically upon close, and is there a manual way to do this?

The beat grids aren't way off. seems to be mostly just the start point not on the beat, so just takes a little tweaking. One thing I did to help with the bpm analysis was to go into File Management and change the Analyze BPM range to 105-145. I play minimal techno and essentially all my tracks fall in 120-130 range. I have one track that i bought off of beatport last night, and the autobeat grid was indeed way off. It wasn't the bpm(i don't think), but the start point. i have yet to be able to get that particular track fixed, been moving the grid, listening to tick, adjusting bpm and no luck.

overall i'm very pleased. Was playing today for a little and things seem to be working fine.

Can someone provide some detail on the current keylock issues? In T2.5.3 I'm able to change tempo +50% and keep (or adjust) key with no degradation. It still doesn't make a lick of sense to me that this ability is long gone from Traktor, and I was given to understand that it had been restored. But comments in a few threads are either great whoops of joy they users were able to keylock SIX WHOLE PERCENT (golly), or that audio degradation was prominent when keylocking. Say it ain't so.

It's a standard application bundle (*.app), Intel-Mac only.

I've always set a deck to master and synced the rest to it in T3. I'm stoked that TPro makes this a million times easier by having only one sync button and automatically setting a playing tune to master when the current master ends. Once people get used to this, I'm sure they'll see why it makes more sense to do it this way.

yeah, audio recording is still there. And I believe you can store multiple points in the same spot by clicking the number where you want to store it, then click "Store".

Anybody else missing Snap Vinyl Mode Buttons

On T3 theres the Snap Vinyl Panel.
I miss this as i need to cue up many tracks with vinyl mode and then set the Load Point and switch back to Snap.
Especially with guitar music you can play from the first beat or point on the grid as that missed the first notes.

I know i can use Vinyl mode in prefs but hey i like the option with Panel.
Its not as there isnt room now.

It aint so. Traktor Pro has the ability to keylock pitch shift 100% To do so, do the following....
    Open Preferences | Transport
Set Pitch fader range to 100%
Set Keylock qulity | Keylock Range to ALWAYS

In the atached pic I'm set to max pitch 35% & Always.

And ones with no turntables are limited to push SYNC button? I use to align tracks with deck wind controls mapped onto keyboard. By now doesn't seem possible...Am I wrong?

    Phil,

So where do stripes/beatgrids get saved to?

Can they no longer get written to the mp3 tag? And if they can when do they? I haven't seen Traktor Pro automatically write a file tag.

The tags do get written to the files in an Automated background process. Where once we had manual over-ride to read and wirte tracks now we don't. Track and stripe data does get written to the collection file and stripes file. The upside is that Traktor Pro works much more diligently to ensure track tags get written to files. The new "chunk" as its called for Traktor pro is seperate from the Tags used for T3, that is the reason the music files can be used for both T3 and Pro and not have ID collisions. Hoever the collections files and stripe formats are not compatible between versions, so you cannot use your T Pro collection with T3 and you can only import your T3 collection into TPro.

and it also gets written to the actual file (mp3) itself.

I appreciate all of your answers!

Several people have asked this, but no answer so far:

Can anyone tell me whether Traktor Pro really works with Vista 64 bit? I know it says it does, but would like to hear from someone who has seen it. This could finally be my return to Traktor if it works.

    Thanks
