    Hi All

The master does not communicate with the direct out 1/2.

Set the individual instruments to Direct and the volume gets reasonably loud.

Alas, one can't use the fx then (compressors, limiters etc)

What is that? Never seen that before.

when using direct outs, the master section is bypassed...which is pretty much the definition of "Direct Outs" This would be used if you would like to send each cell to its own track. You would then use the host DAW as the Main Mixer for setting individual drum volume, those channels than can be sent to a drum bus that allows you to control the overall volume of the drum mix and apply any effects you want to that bus. it basically gives you greater flexibility by not requiring you to constantly go back to the plugin in order to adjust the mix...all can be done from the host DAW. it also allows you to add an effect that may not be available in Battery to an individual cell or the bus....its mixing 101.

I understand what routing is clever one.

BUT like on Superior Drummer, Addictive Drums, SSD, Groove Agent, Impact etc. One can choose to do both, does not stop the master stereo out bus from having the same output volume from the start. Which here is basically NO volume, so one has to crank the actual input gain on the the original bus.

My other samplers don't do this either. I know how to work my studio man. I just kinda liked a couple of the fx in there. And I'd also like my girlfriend to be able to open a whole kit without having to start routing everything to separate buses, as I'm teaching her what you seem to think you're teaching me lol.

by default, all cells are routes to master...so why not just create 2 kits...one Master and one Direct...she can use the Master and you can use the Direct Kit...that's Battery 101! :D
