hey guys so I am very new to the dj world & I bought myself a S2 & as standard comes with Traktor Pro lic. which is great.
but now I have also bought a pioneer mixer but no software with it. used gear
my question is can I use my license from the S2 to also use my Pioneer mixer? or do I have to buy a new license.
    thanks heaps

    Welcome To The Forum.

You can install Traktor on 2 laptops/computers at one time - technically the licence only permits you to use one machine at at time.
You are free to connect your Traktor to as many mixers or controller as you like. There are no limitations on the licence with regards to the hardware you use.
Unlike Virtual DJ you do not need to purchase separate updates or licences for different controllers/mixers.
Once you have bought Traktor, it's your to use it with whatever you wish :)

    Hope that helps.

In Service Centre you only need to enter the serial number of the software.
Then, register the S2 controller serial number on the support website.
Software and hardware bundles are linked so both serial numbers are interdependent on each other.

You do not need the Pioneer mixer serial number to use Traktor with. Which mixer is it?

Let us know how you get on.

    Karlos.

Ah ok, I have the DJM T1 as well.
It should simply plug n play with Traktor as it is a 'Traktor Pro 2 Ready Mixer'.
Make sure you install the DJM Settings Tool from the Pioneer website so you can select the correct audio settings.

Saludos, what about when one of the 2 laptops is broken? One of my laptops got soaked in water during Hurricane Maria and does not work. So how do I get traktor on a new one once or whenever I buy it?

Install it from your NI account pages. That will probably already do it. There does not seem to be that tight a check - in my experience, you can install on far more than two computers provided that you do not use more than two in parallel or in mixed sequence. Over the course of time, I've installed it to a lot of computers, both my desktop and notebook having been replaced several since I started using Traktor, and have never got locked out of anything. If you should ever get locked out, simply contact Support to clean up and reset your license database.

You will be fine to install Traktor on another machine. NI can track your installations, the servers hold the information but if you have had a catastrophic issue with a laptop there's nothing you can do about it and NI certainly wouldn't be harsh when you've had the misfortune to have been hit by a hurricane.

It's already been mentioned above. But from my past experience, it lets me licence Traktor on new machines. I believe it just removes the scratch function from other machines next time you go on it. (if it's broken like you say it shouldn't be an issue)

This is incorrect. The scratch function is deternined by the serial number. Installing Traktor on multiple machines will not enable or disable the scratch functionality.
