    Hey.

I've searched this whole forum and I haven't found an answer to this problem.

I'm running Traktor Pro on my Macbook Pro, running os10.6.4.
I'm using a Numark Total Control with the Numark DJ/io as the sound card. I have the headphones plugged into the headphone port, and my speakers plugged into the Output 1 port.

In the Traktor preferences, I have "Numark USB Audio Device (2 in, 2 out)" selected as my Audio Device under the Audio Setup tab.

In the Output Routing tab is where the problem is. I can set my Output Monitor or My output master as Out 1 and 2, but that's all I have to choose from. I can't set both my Monitor and my Master output to an output channel. There's no 3 or 4.

So I can hear the music out of the speakers, but I can't monitor the cued song in my headphones.

Please help. I've had no luck and I'm starting to think I wasted a lot of money on something that won't work. Let me know

The DJ Io should have 4 channels so make sure that you have installed the latest driver available on Numark's site. and check in coreaudio's preferences that all the outputs are activated.

I have the latest drivers (2.0). I don't know what you mean by coreaudio's preferences. Would that be accessed in the Audio MIDI setup application?

EDIT: If I go into the Audio MIDI setup, and click the USB Numark device, it says 2 in, 2 out. Is it supposed to be 4 out?

OK! so I figured out how to get all 4 channels to appear. Apparently, it doesnt recognize the DJ/io correctly if it's plugged into a usb hub.

I unplugged the DJ/io from the hub and directly into the laptop and now i can see all 4 channels.

    Just to be sure.....:

I want the Output master set to 1 and 2, and the monitor to 3 and 4, right?

yes indeed and don't forget to "route" the monitor signal to the Headphone jack on the card as well if needed (could be done automatically when you plug headphones.
