Open Letter to the Maschine Community

The only useful info can come from people who participate in the beta. But they're not allowed to respond here.

 

One did though.. that’s all I need to hear.. NI sitting on some tech we all want. Guess we gotta wait to 3.0 or the announcement of another new controller per usual

 

The thing is, it wasn't in a beta it was real for everyone in Version 2.5.5.

Nah, that was an unintentionally released beta feature.

The point isn't that is was an unintentional release, but that it had a work in progress version of something we have been asking for, for 9 or more years, and that was in December 2016, and it is now July 2018, and that feature is still missing in action.

How long is it feasible to work on something like this with no progress reports, advances or attempts at integrating it into Maschine proper? To me 19 months is too long, but familiar behaviour for NI and informs my decisions on how or if I spend money with them.

 

Agreed. But guess what they will inform us anytime there is a new expansion or plugin available. We all here need to do something about it since they don't seem to listen to us. I don't know who would be the person or right channel to talk to someone from them. But we need to figure something out or just stop using there products and letting people know before they buy anything on YouTube or any social media for what their company stands for which is that they only care about their bottom line. If they took your money you are no longer important for them, they will promised features and to fix bugs so you can buy their product but will not delivered.

 

if NI waits until version 3.0 to add Song Layer to Maschine, then i think that forum users who bought Jam upon launch should get the 3.0 software update FOR FREE.

But this situation is not of his making, and he has no control of how development is implemented.

 

There are no people on Earth more patient than Maschine users.

On the outside you don't know how hard it is to do certain things to put into Maschine. It might take them a year or more. The job they do isn't easy and maschine is very complex. It also important to note they aren't putting out anything until they are satisfied with it and done right period. With any purchase in general that I'm not happy with the question would be why continue to wait this long? With the spend money part, many on here have suggested already.

Sure cant argue against that but 2 years is a long time and MANY others things no one asked for were developed and released while totally disregarding things we been asking for years. Lord... I even made it easy for them and organized the feature requests.

Simply not true. NI's representatives said last year that they were going for a steady release of smaller updates that incrementally enrich features instead of waiting a long time to release a polished/complex feature... The Audio Module is proof of this strategy but so far it hasn't evolved at all...

That I do agree with.

 

I think it's clear that it was not so much that these features (song mode/arranger) are difficult to implement, but that instead their road map (unfortunately for us) changed: audio module, perhaps sounds.com integration (connected to the audio module) and maybe even something else which is not public yet.

We can all agree that comms on the public forum are terrible to say the least.

Let's see what the near future will bring us. But yes, something needs to happen very soon.

Not worried about that really because Sounds.com is done by team in LA. Maschine's developers are in Berlin (could be wrong here).

 

Sheesh where do you come up with this stuff dude? Just because Berlin offices and LA offices work in different locations, it doesn't mean that they work separately and autonomously. You do understand there is such a thing as a corporate office that sends out instructions to it's subsidiary offices, right? Hypothetically, if LA puts something out, Berlin has approved it.

Are you seriously arguing that Maschine has always put out products on time "and done right period"? Time stretch engine, JAM ring a bell to you? Even the letter they wrote was too soon, because we've still yet to see any of that come to fruition.
