Opening Maschine 1 Projects in Maschine 2

Hi there....
My "old" computer runs maschine 1 and some projects that I want to open in my new computer running maschine 2 software/hardware.

The videos showing how to do thisshow a file menu that has an option to import 1.x projects.

I have the Maschine 1 project files on a hard drive... I took said hard drive and plugged it into the new computer running maschine 2....

But... My file menu in Maschine 2 does not have this import 1.x Projects option. What?!
Ideas? Thanks

 

Without knowing what videos you're talking about it's kinda hard to comment on it. Still, my guess is that those videos showed an older release of Maschine 2: the software is still in development and new features get constantly added.

As such my guess is that you don't need any import options at all, just try to use the regular 'Open' function to load your project.

 

Thanks for the reply. I tried that. The MPRJ maschine 1 files are greyed out. Maschine 2 cannot open them.

 

The import feature was removed last update or the one before , you’d have to install a older version of maschine to get it back .

Can you do it on the computer with maschine 1 , then it won’t interfere with your main computer

haha, now that I have finally upgraded to my new OS, installed all NI apps, moved presets, updated drivers, migrated system and many other app things, hours of work,...Now I find out that this is the last thing crucial for my migration to new MBP with Catalina. The only thing Ableton live does not recall. Not just that there is a lot of work converting old projects, but also unfortunate that import 1.x disappeared from the new version of Maschine. I am considering moving away from maschine and battery as they were my "go to" plugins for years...so sad and disappointing. I really love those softwares. But now, I will have a lot of hard time trying to open electronic music projects from previous three years of work. Countless songs and additional hours...

 

Yes! I can not believe my eyes!!!
It so frustrated me.. Instead creativity I spent tons times to open old projects

im still having trouble with this...i keep getting this message when trying to upload the old version to get my files....hoe can i fix it ??? HERE IS WHAT POPS UP and i cleared my c panel of native instruments

 

Have you tried to uninstall the version you want to replace manually? Then run the older installer.

 

My apologies, but I'm confused...
When (and why) was the option to [Import 1x] Projects removed from the File menu on Maschine 2.x...?
I definitely remember that option being there recently...
Will that Import option return to the File menu in Maschine 2.x...?

 

As you can read on the article, MASCHINE 1 projects can only be imported in MASCHINE 2 up to version 2.8.7.
That option will not be available in Maschine 2 after 2.8.7
