Opening some sessions in Cubase/Nuendo takes ages - batch resave?

    Kontakt 6.5.3 Cubase/Nuendo 11.0.3

When I open sessions in Nuendo that use certain Kontakt instruments it'll take a really long time to open - I'll be stuck on the channel loading bar for a while before the project window appears. Having a look in the Resource Monitor I can see that some (but not all) of the libraries are being scanned, which is presumably why I'm having to wait (see picture). Once the project opens I'll see the same activity again as the samples are loaded in. This only happens for some libraries, so I'm wondering what's going on? I remember this happening sometime in the past but not how I solved it. I'd already added all the relevant exception to the antivirus, so I don't think that's the issue. Could a batch resave help?
Grateful for any advice because it's really slowing my workflow at the moment.

Well I tried a batch resave but unfortunately the problem is still occurring. I'd really appreciate some help if anyone has any ideas, as sessions that used to open in 15 seconds now take nearly 10 minutes. It only happens once per project per day but if I'm working on varied projects then I'm losing almost an hour a day!

What hard drive are your samples on? if it's spinny rust, is it going on the fritz? And once it's loaded, it's in Windows disk cache and loads faster?
If you already have it on SSD and the disk is otherwise healthy (you can check by doing a duplicate of a large folder, for example) then that's not it.

Hi Jon thanks for your reply. It's a mixture of (healthy) HDD and SSD. In both cases before the project loads I can see the described behaviour, although obviously it takes less time when loading from an SSD. Still can't find a reason for a project loading in 10 seconds one day, and then in 10 minutes on the next day!

Are you doing a cold boot "on the next day"? That would be the reason.

Yes exactly that. So is this expected behaviour on initial load of a project following a cold boot? Maybe I'm confusing my memory but I'm sure I never used to experience this behaviour on previous versions.

That's expected as far as I can tell. I experience slower loading of some larger libraries (i.e. Session Horns Pro) after a cold boot vs subsequent closing of Kontakt after loading it once, too. Even in standalone - it's not even up to the host.
