Would be great (since you cant purchase the Audio 10 anywhere anymore). If you dont want to have to stress about support tickets for non-NI gear, simply put a disclaimer somewhere easy for everyone to see or do what Pioneer does, and just let it be, but never say other gear is supported.

i cant cosign this enough. i love traktor but hardly ever play out with it because its so much easier to use the inevitably available serato setup. when people come to my home and see traktor they like it but are immediately put off by the need to purchase different hardware.

Im not sure if there's a tech reason (im guessing the hacks avaialable mean there isnt) but it makes no sense to cut the product off from connectivity - especially when NI itself arent exactly flooding the market with devices - mixers/controllers/cards.

please do this. add a couple quid on the dvs vinyl to cover the cost of it, or maybe make it a paid one off upgrade so those who want it will pay for it to offset the percieved loss of hardware purchase...

    This!

I would happily pay extra to be able to use any interface.

The hex hack was squashed a couple updates ago, btw.

Yes this would be great but it's not gonna happen. As long as Pioneer and Rane have big $$$ deals with Serato a DJM-S9 or 72 will not work with Traktor DVS and won't be midi mappable

I would not be too certain about that.

Traktor is not supporting any of the two top shelf scratch mixers today.
    What's worse?
    • losing some sales on the six years old Z2 that does not play in the same league anyway
    • spending a vast amount of cash to develop something on par with the S9 / 72
    • spending a little cash on developing support
I'd say if they are just ramping up the general development in Traktor (that's what they said) it might take at least a year or two to build a new mixer.
Supporting one of the two competitive mixers gives them time to build something new while not losing more market share in the turntablist scene.

My guess is that we'll see the S9 support.

I don't think that the problem is with NI not wanting to support. Pioneer will not expose key information to NI needed to provide support because they have an exclusive deal with Serato.

Isn't the S9 already supported by rekordbox DJ?

Could be, because Rekordbox = Pioneer

All valid points, but think about this..

You CAN use the NI Z2 with Rekordbox DJ DVS.....

This thread is two years old by now and a lot of stuff can happen in that time. With this official statement I don´t see why it would not happen, it just takes time to develop a proper MIDI mapping for all its functions. The audio interface restriction is only a firmware issue and nothing else...

It's not even a firmware issue. The S9's interface can be routed in Traktor, which means NI could easily open up DVS support for it. (Hell it's even been used in the Hex Hack).

I do not think will leave out s9, cmq also djm 450 and other pioneer mixers were just for Rekordbox ,, and then they were integrated in the latest updates, then I support a mixer from € 750 and not s9 that is still used a lot. To integrate a mixer the two parties must agree a fee for each product sold with the mark that certifies that the product works with this software. So S9 was initially a Serato mixer, then it became compatible with the official Rekordbox, even if you could use it before, but until the agreements with Serato at the pioneer were over, they said that S9 would not be supported on Rekordbox, but then support has arrived. So I hope that in the next version of Traktor dj, the dvs is open to all the cards that support it, then if it is officially supported so much better
