Greetings all, so I'm building a new computer today (Win7 x64) and that will require me to install my Komplete 8 Ultimate and Maschine (I have MK1 hardware and just bought the Maschine 2 software update) software and I've just gotten finished downloading all eleventy-billion updates from the software section of the NI website. My question is: do I really need to install all these updates or are they rolled up in subsequent updates and 2) is there a particular order I would want to do Komplete and Maschine in (like does Maschine 2 need to go in *after* all my Komplete stuff to "see" it or anything like that or shold Komplete go in after Maschine 1.8 and then Maschine 2 after Komplete?) ?

So, my plan right now I think is to install this way [this list will be long and tedious but I want to get this right] (I guess I'm looking for advice on if this is the way to do it):

    KOMPLETE 8 ULTIMATE (install/update first?):
Install Komplete 8 Ultimate from HD
Install All 29 updates to Komplete

    MASCHINE install order:
    Maschine 1 from DVD
    Ableton Live Template (6/3/2009 version)
    Maschine Factory Content 1.0.3
    1.1 update
    1.5 update
    Maschine Factory Content 1.5
    1.5.1 update
    1.6.2 update
    1.7.1 update
    Maschine Controller 3.0.1
    1.7.2 update
    1.8.1 update
    1.8.2 update
Ableton Live Template update (11/3/13 version)
    Maschine 2 software
    Maschine 2 factory library
Komplete Selection (do I need to install this if I already have Komplete 8 installed and patched?)

So does that look about right? Or am I missing anything here or doing it in teh wrong order?

    Thanks in advance!

With NI products, you normally only have to install the base software then the last update for each product.

In your case I would install:
    1) Komplete 8 Ultimate
    2) The latest Komplete 8 Ultimate updates, e.g. Kontakt 5.3.0, Reaktor 5.9.0, library updates, etc.

    3) Maschine 2 software
    4) Maschine 2 factory Library

You shouldn't have to install any other earlier Maschine products on your computer.

If you have Komplete 8 Ultimate, you don't need to install Komplete Selection at all.

In a nutshell, almost every NI product had a recent update to provide Maschine 2.0 compatibility. Therefore you should install all other software AND UPDATES before installing Maschine 2.0 and 2.0.2

I've just had to do a similar install this week, it took a whole day to install everything!

Don't forget that once you have installed all the Komplete updates, you need to run each product in standalone mode to get the libraries imported/listed. Otherwise they won't load in Maschine 2 ;)

    hi Guys,

Just came across this thread, as I too have Komplete 8 Ultimate, and I'm migrating to Maschine 2.0 from 1.85.
Like Martin Hines mentioned, can I skip the new Komplete Selection install, if I have Komplete 8 ultimate?

    thanks

i forgot to do this sometimes and when i opened the hosted version and realized then it still scanned and did it and everything was fine

can not you just install the updates of apps and plugs to begin with and then the k8u installer will just skip the newer versions.. as i understand it, except for the libraries, the updates are complete replacements of the previous ones

    HEEEELLLLPPPPP
I would really appriciate if somone could give me a quick explanation

When things comes to technical instalation and drivers n s*it im zerro there...

So short version : some viruses fucked up my drivers from maschine and other programms,i re-installed maschine with the CD but
it seems that this is an old version because it doesn't open my tracks as they are made with newer version

I dont understund till the end,if i have maschine mikro ,then 1.7.1 is the current software or its maschines main sofware?

    Thanks,Gvido
