Is there a way to organize the one shots in the browser?

What one-shots? Your own custom samples or stuff from the library?
If you import a folder to the Preferences > Library > User it will show up grouped in the User Browser, then you can press the EDIT button at the bottom of the browser and apply tags

Imagine if NI would partner up with XLN audio to include the algorithmic sample sorting that they offer in XO? Maschine is currently a complete mess in user samples and sorting IMO.

The tags are better than nothing, but with the number of expansions I own (nearly all of them) I’m still looking at lists with 3000+ items when browsing for a kick or snare etc. What I’d really appreciate is a way to sort the list in random order, because there are probably some great samples near the bottom of the list that I will simply never discover. A shuffle button would give us a fresh list to browse through every time, and make it worthwhile to actually listen to them one by one. Right now what I do is scroll scroll scroll (with the Shift button) until I’m somewhere in the middle of the list and go from there. It’s not great.

I don’t find “analog”, “digital”, “vinyl” to be particularly useful as tags. I don’t want to restrict myself to that type of category, but it’s the only way to further narrow the list.

Also, rim shots need to be moved to their own tag. I understand a rim shot is hitting the rim of a snare, but it’s a completely different sound, and I don’t enjoy scrolling through 500 rim shots (I forget the actual number, but it’s way too many) to get to the actual snare sounds when looking for a snare.

Looks interesting, but that doesn’t seem like a great fit for Maschine. I don’t think it can browse the contents of Maschine expansions, and it’s a software instrument, so you either have to manually map all the pads or use the pads in “keyboard” mode. You also lose the ability to use the mixer, unless it has multiple outputs and you manually map each one to a different sound/pad slot. No thanks.
