Now you guys really got me worried but at least I am not playing at anything too serious. My heart goes out to all those of you with unforgiving crowds.

Maybe its Apple that need their buts kicked. Bit tricky for NI to keep up to date when OS X changes every few weeks!

Thanks for the sympathy my friend.

Apple OS X - a work in progress and well, it goes with the territory unfortunately...:furz:

In remembrance of Copland & Rhapsody ...

Apple's biggest improvement is that their OSs are ACTUALLY RELEASED ... I'm impressed.

I thought Jaguar already had more than 150 new features ...

At least OS X is never triple-threated by viruses and Apple doesn't come up with security updates every week ...

I second that - imagine having to worry about both TDJ bugs AND viruses!

That is reason alone for me staying with Apple...

Reason why Macs are my main machine is that they're pretty hassle-free hardware-wise; the hardware and software are developed, or at least it is tested and verified by the same company, unlike the Windows world.

Of course on the other hand, you can't really tweak the hardware-stuff that easily ... just like guitars, some love to play them "as is", some love to modify them, resolder the wires, change pots, change capacitors ...

    Love Mac's. Hate guitars....

I have to agree with Mont. Viruses is not an issue with Macs.
During the 10 years I've been a Mac user I have yet to come across a virus.
Can't help but to smile a bit every time I read about the latest virus scare and all the warnings about not opening this mail or that mail.

You hate the instrument itself or the "image" that surround it? :D

I have nothing against the instrument in itself just as long as no one plays it...
    Quiet guitar - Good!
    Sounding guitar - Bad!
Can't say that I care much for the image either... ;)

I got into electronic music way back when Kraftwerk started out (Am I really THAT old? Time flies...hmmmmmm) and have been stuck there every since.
Went through the Synth wave of the eighties and finally back in 95 got involved in the Trance scene. Back then it was the muli-layered, quite hysterical Goa type but that evolved over the years into the Psy-trance we see today and Goa-trance doesn't really exist anymore.

I guess my choice of music is rather narrow. My girlfriend calls me picky but personally I prefer the term selective..hehe ;)

    "Selective" ... :D
But good music is good music and does exist in any genre, after all (I hope ...).

I personally think electric guitars and Psy-trance fit in like a hand and a glove ... it only needs the right "glove" to fit in ...

I used to be a rather "pathetic" strictly-hiphop two-turntables-and-a-microphone, e-mu-sp-1200-or-akai-mpc-3000-and-nothing-else guy until I heard U2 and all that ZOO TV stuff back in '93.
After a couple of years I became friends with this guy who is really into New Wave, listened to Joy Division / New Order, PIL, My Bloody Valentine, The Cure, The Police ... That opened up A LOT for me ...
I play a little bit of guitar myself now, but some things in the guitar world I simply can't accept; the tube/vintage/lacquer/"unplugged"/analog-or-nothing praise, dirty fretboards, "hair"-metal-floyd-roses, stickers all over the instrument, and worst of all, guitar-smashing.

"Oh, and one more thing ..." :D
Speaking of "image", we all know Macs are pretty much surrounded by them, and I do feel a bit uneasy sometimes ... I mean, what's the deal, it takes as much basic maintenance as any Windows PC for my system to run smoothly.
The os x / virus thing ... don't you just love it when you open a 100k mail with a .bat or .pif or .exe file, scoff at it, and throw away into the junk mail folder?
The term "Mac" seems to be a yuppie tech-talk stopper around me ... I was asked if my computer was all right through the SoBig/MSBlast/Welchia threat a few months ago (in that obvious "I'm a push you over" tone), I grinned and said "I own a Mac."
    His answer, "... Oh ..."
*nyek nyek nyek* :D :hammer: :furz:
