First off, Randomise only affects panel elements. Any elements that you want to protect from change should be Morph Isolated.
The randomise should generate any floating point value in the natural range of the element.

Adding Steampipe showed me two things - how the new ensemble structure works in R 5.6 and how to finally make a Master snapshot happen. I was never able to make the master presets affect all the other instruments before. I don't know what I found difficult, it's easy.

What do you mean by BLANK scales?
    ---
Earlier I posted about adding a tuning macro to Automato - that's what I had in mind - like an automatic scale feature.

A way of adding velocity patterns might be nice. I can imagine a second Automata running that generated the velocity data while the first generated the MIDI data.

Actually I used a wrong term, I should have said blank "squares"...

I meant that I put notes (into the circles) for example C Aeolian is C,D,D#,F,G,G#,A#,C in TWO octaves and I save it empty as a template.

That way the grid is loaded with correct notes and if I make something I want to save, it is saved in that key. You know how easy it is to "clear" squares, but once you start to change notes, it can be off, anyway it was an experiment to see what kind of sound I get in various keys...
    Does it make sense?

theoretically one could make favorite scales all in C and use the transposition button...

Anyway a very fun ensemble and thank you both.

Been playing with this all day in a variety of instrument groupings.

Here's an example of Automato, 3X, and g'litchToo.

    Use the JHnn snapshots.

I added an OFF button to g'litchToo and isolated it from the snapshots,
so you can manually turn that on and off independent of the snapshot.

    Yet another little instrument setup.

This time with bwonggg2 and delayrium.

    Use the JHnn snapshots.

Naturally these all need the Reaktor clock running, so hit the play button.

I found a bug in the direction logic, or something I don't understand.

Start with a clear grid and then send an impulse in a lane.

In that same lane click on a different grid to send a second pulse.

Sometimes the two pulses collide and go in opposite directions and sometimes they go in a 90 degree direction. I have to confess I never studied the rules in the original program, so maybe there is something I'm missing. At any rate, this is still a lot of fun...

yes this can happen in the original, assuming i understand you correctly. two notes in a lane do not necessarily collide with each other. because of the way things work out though, it kind of looks like they do... in the original, two notes next to each other will not collide. if you leave a space between them, they will. in my version, because of the way the timing worked out with an 8x8 grid, it's just the opposite (this is because in my version, the arrows take a step to 'turn around' while staying in the same cell when it hits a note, in the original, they do not). this creates some differences between the two in the more esoteric behavior...

here's a version that will illustrate this, i think. collisions and triggered notes are clearly shown on the GUI, a weird bug got squashed, and randomize works now. probably the next step will be some sort of easy scale maker like that website has.

btw, i tried using this today w/ the finger, very cool!

btw, one of the weirder behaviors i'm surprised no one has mentioned is that you can left click on an active cell when the sequencer is running and create a 'loop' of sorts that goes one step right, one step down, one step left, one step up in an endless circle until it gets hit by another node. this seems like a bug, but it also exists in the original. because of the way i changed the timing it's not exactly the same and harder to set up in my version but quite similar once you get it working, and it can create some truly weird patterns.

    And yet another:

    Auto 2 + Metallo + Anima

This one has a bunch of scales made for Auto 2:
    Dorian, Phrygian, Pelog, etc.

Metallo is a great metallic generator and Anima provides lots of weird resonances.

So this set could be called Heavy Metal.

I hope you have enjoyed my little walk down memory lane - hitting upon some of the interesting rhythmic synths and effects from the U/L. It's been a while since I explored some of these and they always show the incredible diversity and talent in the reaktor User Library.

I could go on for days...

Auto2 + SY FM synth + rachMiel faTTener

This one has some nice auto 2 sequences in various scales.

I'm starting to get the hang of it.

i'm designing a scale maker now just so you know ;)
don't want you to spend too much time programming scales without knowing that...

thanks for all your contributions, jim. this is shaping up to be pretty awesome.

I don't spend much time, I just add one or two new sequences for each upload.

Actually, I'm having a blast going through my old favorites. It's been years since I listened to some of these classics.

One thing I noticed, the original 9 stages had a middle symmettry since the number is odd (same amount of time on each side of the grid). With an 8 step grid there is always an assymmetry - which is fine, just a note.

This upload uses IcePad and Komplex Delay for some cold snaps.

BTW, I suspect Reaktor 64 bit caught the community a lot of new users, so I have ulterior motives in these uploads:

    1) trying out R5.6
    2) showing new people some great old classics
    3) filling time while I watch the Firefly marathon on SyFy.

I'm working from my MacBook Pro, so I can't really judge the audio quality on these speakers - the sounds may be dreadful, but it's the setup that counts...

As I said elsewhere, a man after my own heart ;-) When it's done going to finish proper with the movie...real shame it didn't make the cut back in the day, a real nice hybrid of genres and writing.

btw, I think you meant The Science Channel (where it's on here), not the SyFy Channel?

Right - Science channel; enjoy the Serenity movie.

Here is a great drum combo:

auto2 with the 8 drums in Gonzo Classic along with rachMiel's dubbleDUBBLE.

You will have fun with this.

Use the Major Scales and C3 octave (labelled as C4 on Gonzo).
