Sorry for the OT, but why?
The 64 bits support is a good and a necessary thing, but for the end user is not a "revolution" right now. I dont know, maybe Im wrong...

It just seemed that we had a lot of new people posting, so I thought people may have been waiting for it.

It's not revolutionary for Reaktor itself but because many people REQUIRE 64 bit for their extra large sampler instruments (film scoring, etc) they have switched to native 64 bit mode for their DAW and 32 bit bridging has been problematic...thus an attitude of not buying a plug-in unless it is native 64 bit. A short cruise through the Gearslutz 'new software' section should show this has become a real deal breaker for this particular percentage of users.

Some new auto 2 drum patterns and the awesome Laserbrew applied to Gonzzo drums.

This sounds really great on the MacBookPro speakers.

    That's it for tonight...

Wow, going to be a lot to check out when I next get a chance, thanks Jim!

btw, maybe it was already mentioned but noticed another 'inspired by Otomata' for Windows (I am Mac so can't try it myself).

Nova 3 (alpha) is a generative sequencer VST for Windows.

If you have Colorflex, you can try using the sampler....works nice

I hooked up two, one with drums, other with bass samples, pitched...Great fun!

Thanks for the link to Bill Davies page.

The original post above on Otomata is for a Flash version that plays in a browser independent of pc type.

Twisted tools MP16 will also work nicely.

For the newcomers - steps to modify my auto 2 ensembles posted here:

    Assembly/disassembly

    1) Load one that is already set up
    2) open the structure view
    3) delete the effect or synth part that you want to replace
    4) drag a new synth or effect ensemble into the structure view. Reaktor 5.6 will wrap it into an ensemble.
    5) open that ensemble and copy the instrument inside
    6) go to the top level and paste that instrument there - this removes the ensemble wrapper that R 5.6 just made
    7) delete the ensemble that you just copied from, you don't need it any more
    8) wire up the new instrument's ins and outs

    Reaktor Property settings

    9) go to the new instrument properties page and click 'recall snaps by parent' in the Function tab. This allows the master ensemble snapshots to control the current snapshot setting in the new insrtrument. On the Connect tab open the MIDI IN properties and click Automato for the MIDI input instrument; also use channel 1 for MIDI if another channel is selected (commonly drum instruments use channel 10). This allows Automato to send MIDI to the new instrument.

    MIDI data settings

    10) Adjust the transpose or row/column notes so that the right MIDI notes are sent by Automato - or adjust the instrument note handling.

It's simpler to do than it takes to read.

    OH yeah, one other thing:

Many ensembles seem to have Recall snap via MIDI so that a MIDI program change will automatically choose a preset.

I can't stand this, and I always disable it.

Here is a new version with auto 2 and some interesting drum patterns.

Gonzzo has been updated to use Micro Space and I added a few new drum sounds.

I added a lot of Laserbrew snapshots and fixed some Morph/Rand settings so that Randomize works better on Laserbrew - it's an easy way to make cool effects.

Just so it is clear, I added a picture of which snap shot settings to use. The area in green in the attached picture is the ensemble master snapshot that stores all the instrument snaps and keeps them co-ordinated. You can, of course, select whichever subsets you want, but these are how I saved them and heard them.

Also keep in mind that I am making these on a laptop so the speakers are somewhat lacking and you can probably improve the sound quality settings with some simple tweaks of the patches.

Correction to the last upload - I forgot to update the B view on Gonzzo Classic when I added Micro Space.

Fixed in here - cosmetic change only - no sonic changes.

Well, I loaded things up in the studio and the sound just didn't cut it, so I re-did a lot of stuff.

First, I replaced all the drum samples, then I made Gonzzo fully stereo. Then I added a limiter after Lazerbrew to tame the madness.

There are any number of other changes, I don't remember them all, but essentially this is a re-make.

Now the main snapshots actually make decent percussive tracks.

The drum samples include a complete GM map and a lot of one-shots/stabs/glitches I made with Auralis and other ensembles.

Unfortunately, the zip file won't fit in the upload specs, so I stored it on my site.

You can download it from here:

    auto2Gonzzo4Laserbrew4.rar

The RAR file is about 22 MB because the 8 sample maps are pretty big.
