Outputs within VST host

I'm a bit confused about these statements:

I see how 8 stereo outputs can be used as 16 mono outputs when you use Maschine as standalone and send its outputs directly to the audio interface (panning the sounds hard left and hard right).

But when you use Maschine as a VSTi, are you then stuck with 8 stereo outputs or is it possible to make your own outputs configuration? For example 4 stereo + 8 mono outputs?

Y'all need to go ahead and bump it up to at least 16 stereo.

 

ya i believe MOTU BPM has double that for sending sounds to the daw mixer. considering you can use maschine's controller as a midi/pad controller makes it a enormous plus. in motu bpm i like the sampling window where you can highlight what you wanna chop and drag and drop right to a pad. these are awesome tools for the road. the only error about including a controller with a peice of software is that its fully integrated with it from start. witch means the controller can only keep up with so much of the updating of the software far as added controls and features. there can always be a new hardware upgrade or release down the road though, or unless you could actually update the "firmware" inside the controller. this field of beat machines is growing and is starting to get competitive, i like it a lot.

 

I'd rather have 8 extra mono outputs than 8 extra stereo outputs.

 

you can do that in Maschine as well.

not the same similarity of motu bpm far as just high lighting the section and droppin it to a pad. to me thats a little quiker

i don't know the Motu... but with Maschine you just highlight a slice and drag it onto a Sound slot (Pad).
