Is it possible to change the default layout for all the drumkits in maschine? I mean to move the kick from 1 to 3, snare to 7, etc.

Currently the only way I know is to do that manually for each kit and save that as a user kit. Sure there's gotta be a better way?
Sure I'm not the only one that is used to a different layout? :)

    thanks!

Copy kick from 1 to 3 and then clear out 1. The same as snare, copy it to 7 and then clear out the pad where it was before

I don't know any way to map kit content differently per default. It wouldn't make much sense, seeing as kits vary wildly in content and sometimes contain no drum sounds at all. If you want to move the location of a pad, hold shift while in Pad mode and use the top button row

Thanks for replying, really appreciated! I know how to re-assign one individual kit, I've done it several times, but I disagree on this not making sense as a default: there are hundreds of kits with the same layout, and most drum machines work exactly this way (kicks, snares, etc always on the same place). I understand maschine can be used in several different ways and it's not a drum machine, but I'm pretty sure mine is not an isolated use case. If you want to use for drumming, you either have to convert all the kits manually or use the machine in MIDI mode (which works great) and other plugins

Anyway, this is a great product, I was just wondering if there was such a feature or I've missed it altogether

It would be cool but no, there is no such function.

The only way is really to save a Group each time you edit it and sort of make your own custom library where pad placement is set to your own standards.. Tedious but might be worth it, 10 years down the line :D

D-One that's exactly what I've been doing! I'll try to suggest this as a feature... a bit surprised it hasn't got more traction as an issue but might be me using MK3 mostly for drums!

Nah... Lots of people use it for just for drums, especially owners of the Mikro series. This has been brought up many times over the years, not sure if there's an actual feature suggestion thread tho.

ah ok, had no idea, I've been using it for a few months only... I still find it useful but I'll try something else for drumming as it's not really practical to re-map each kit. It's great with Stylus and EZDrummer and a DAW but to me it fails to deliver as a standalone for this particular reason
