Well, I sure am impressed with Kontakt 2. I have had few problems using it in Sonar 4 PE. Today though, I was wondering why my stereo image was getting lost. It appears that Kontakt 2.1 takes the liberty of resetting the pan positions of each nki to center every time the audio engine is reset. Unfortunately, since the audio engine is reset every time you save your work, this has become rather problematic.

Works ok in Cubase, if that's any help. Which I suspect it isn't!

Could this be one of those "zero controllers on halt" problems that come up in Sonar from time to time if you forget to override that option?

Thanks guys...but it seems that Kontakt 2 will reset the panning to center if it recieves CC# 123 (all notes off). Kontakt 1.5x doesn't do this. Also, Sonar will alow the default of either CC# 123 or sending a boat load of individual note off commands AND CC# 123 when the "panic" button is pressed or the enigine reset. I will play with it. But it seems that since Sonar is hard-wired to work in only these two modes, the fix will have to come from NI (also since, again , Kontakt 1.5x doesn't do this).

in options/project there is a midi tab. Make sure "zero all controllers on stop" is unchecked.

Also note, that is a "project " setting, not global. you need to resave your Normal.tpl template file ( and any others) with this switch turned off, otherwise everytime you start a new project, the same issue pops up. Good Luck!
