    Hello!
I've dowmloaded some 3rd party patches, some free, some paid for.
I'm on a Mac, so I've put them in
    /Documents/NativeInstruments/FM8/Sounds/

The patch extentions are all .nfm8
I start FM8 stand alone, and go to File/Options/Rescan Database
So now when I click on Browser, and the the Sounds tab so that it is the Dark color, some folders don't appear.
However, if I click on the Sounds tab so that it is White colored, I can navigate through the system files till I get to the offending folder, the patches are loadable.
I know it's a niggle, but why wont all my sounds show up in the regular browser?
    Thanks!

Folder names don't appear in the preset browser. Banknames does. Banknames is a part of a presets attributes. If the presets don't have banknames they don't show in that coloumn. But they should be there under there preset names. Have you tried to find them by their names?

Also be sure you FM8 point at the correct folder.

Folders can be seen in FM8s file browser.

BTW. There should be no need to rebuild the database. When you put presets on a path FM8 read, then they should appear in FM8 without rebuilding the database.

    Hope this helps.

Just out of curiosity, is there any way of batch-editing meta-data? I have a few patches I would like to bundle into banks and it would be so much easier to be able to just do it once than edit every single patch.

it's not possible to change more than one preset at a time.
The old Kore system could do it, i believe.
There are posts about this in the forums allready.

Do you mean a ksd batch converting to Nfm8?

    Hi paule,
You can't changes any attributes/ metadata when batch converting .ksd files. It only change the file format.
Batch converting is'nt batch editing. The question i think was how to change attributes on more files than one at a time.
