Hey Mick, as you can see, I just joined the forum, but have been VERY active with MASCHINE since 2011 (see below). I'm glad to see you guys actively monitor the threads and take feedback to the dev team. I'm a bit surprised to see threads like this, since I've never encountered a quicker/better way to make music of all genres than using MACHINE (no, I don't work for NI LOL). Early mentions on this thread of automation and fades are done in seconds using the paint tool, and scene/pattern construction beats the workflow of all other tools/hardware I've tried. I could be biased, as I make about 1 new song every 4 days since 2011 using only MASCHINE, but before that, I was using Ableton (too slow to whip out a track -- most of my songs are done in 2 to 8 hours). Before I got into VSTs/computers as my main platform, I was all about KORG synths -- M3 all the way back to Trinity -- but they are all outdated in terms of production workflow. At any rate, everyone has their opinion, but I've not found anything not to like, except for the occasional update removing a common workflow feature (like the old ability to double-click to snap to the scene for loop region). ;)

Anyway, I hope you guys have fun making music, and if something bugs you, let me know. By now, I've probably found a fast way around/through it!

    Have a good weekend!

Just curious what it was with Logic you didn't like or what made you switch to Ableton. Was it for the different workflow?
I love Logic but have looked at ableton as well.

Oh man then i must be one of the few happy maschine users even if I see also lots of room for enhancements, and I don't work with long samples that much that would need audio tracks. But everyone has other needs and not every tool can obviously fit it.

Sorry that this post has turned into the usual scrap on here. Oh well some things just don't change. As for whining? Well when something simply isn't up to to the job what can you do? Have been using Ableton for the last year which suits my workflow a lot better. Never wanted to go over to the dark side but had to be done. I'm not the only one. Will come back to Maschine once it gets its act together, which I sincerely hope it does. P.s have 27 expansions up for grabs. They will be listed on a certain auction site.

Come on people - with or withou new features, this update was always on the cards. It is primarily a bug fix for Jam users. The bass synth is a bonus for those of us without the Jam. NI could have left those bug for the next major release, or they could have released this update without the new synth. I will find a use for this integrated synth.

As for the original poster - Maschine now finally integrates well with other daws - I would sooner have the maschine provide a specialist function in my production, than try to use it for everything.

Logic was great to me meaning that anything I could think to do Logic could do it. The only drawback to Logic is that it wasn't easy for me. I had to figure out how to do things. Even that didn't cause me to switch though.

I used to use a Macbook Pro for production. I got it for the portability but not once did I ever take it to a session, I always take the files only. So I decided to switch to a desktop for the increase in power. This was early this year and Apple had nothing that I wanted. So I went with a Samsung trashcan knockoff. lol It runs W10 so no more Logic for me. Ableton's workflow is similar to Maschine's, so I find it easier to use as well. And my desktop runs buttery smooth to boot.
