pb with absynth 2 with cubase 5.1

hello,

I have a big problem with absynth 2. I'm working with a powerbook G4 800 MO RAM and 900 MHZ, cubase VST 5.1. When I open absynth in cubase instrument , there is no problem. But, when I try to change a program or sound, it freezes my computer. I'm also working with Pro 53 and I never have this kind of problem. Please, help me!!!!

i have exactly the same Problem with my iBook 900.
I use a M-Audio USB Interface and Cubase.
There is one Possibility, you have to turn up the Latency
of your Audiointerface to max. Than you can change the
Programm in Absynth but Cubase will still crash or freeze
while working .
Even the NI Support has no idea what’s wrong.
If you find out what’s happen please send me a mail.

Cubase 5.1, Mac OS9.2., MOTU-2408

I wrote support, they told me this is just the way it is.

It makes the $69.00 I spent for the update useless.

 

non of these probs here. make sure you´re running the latest update of abs2. (should be 2.01 for os9 i believe) i´m running abs2.01 with cubase 5.2PB on G4 933/9.2.2. and it never crashes.... maybe 5.2 makes the difference? my system is optimized for music though.

where did you find cubase 5.2?
i only know Cubase 5.1r1...
i use OS 9.22 on ibook 900 and Cubase 5.1r1

 

5.2PB indicates that it´s a public beta. however, it works very well and loads of very old bugs are fixed within this version. due to a new bug you just can´t use it with a serial midi interface WITHOUT using oms but that´s not a big issue (for me). btw it supports systemlink.

get it, it´s cool. on cubase.net there is a dedicated forum for this version. check it too..

donno if it will solve your absynth probs though, but you´ll enyoy it anyway. (presuming that you have your reasons to still work with vst and os9.)

Absynth crashes anyway but i think now it's a Rewire-Absynth Problem because i get a strange Rewire-error mesage =

"ReWiteDLL.cpp(1078):Verify failure"

while closing the Absynth window...

Anyway, i will try to stay cool to make good music!

 

just for testing: you could try to the remove the rewire extension. mine is also removed for several reasons, but i´m quite sure that absynth was none of these reasons....

 

What would ReWire have to do with Absynth?
