    Hi peeps,

I have 2 x Technics 1210s and a Numark DXM09 mixer with the NI Audio 4 running Scratch Pro. I just want to play at home, nothing serious.

I tried using my Netbook and it was a joke, anylizing tracks takes way too long.

So basically I need a newer PC, do you think it will make much difference if I use an older PC:

Dell Optiplex 745, Pentium D 3.4 GHz Processor, 2Gb RAM

or whether I buy my friends slightly newer:

    Intel DQ965GF Motherboard with core2duo E6300
    2gb Transcend DDR2-800MHz Ram

Thank you in advance for your input.

take the one with the Intel Core2Duo (at least),

to have fun with Traktor you need to tweak your system.
You can find some advices under FAQ at NI website.

    Thanks for the advice.

When you say at least you think there would be even better gains if I got a new system with an i3/i5 cpu?

    Thanks again

since Traktor Pro 2.1.x the software supports Multicore CPUs, if you want to use that version in future, and if you got the money, well ...

But Traktor runs fine with that Core2Duo System, I'm sure.
(see my signature) the ACER is not the newest, but I have no issues, no drop outs or fails with that for years (just the nVidia Graphic driver need to be updated after unboxing).

Definitely, i3/i5 (or even i7 if you have the lucre) processors (especially in desktop form) are infinitely above and beyond core2 processors, not to mention a computer that has one of those generally has support for faster/more RAM.
