    Has anybody used Adaptec Fireconnect Firewire Card for Notebook 3 Port for their PCMCIA USB --> Firewire converter?

    Do you mean DuoConnect?

    Fireconnect is firewire only
    Duoconnect supports USB and yes I've tried the 1422 with varying degrees of success was not particularly impressed.

    I have this card, although haven't really gotten a chance to use it yet (my computer was broken, and i just got it back). From what I've seen a lot of people have this card and it works well. Just make sure it has the TI chipset. Hopefully I'll get everything working w/in the week and report back.
