I'm wondering, where can I find decent samples of a pedal steel guitar? I have Hans Zimmer Guitars, but for some reason, the Lapslide sample doesn't sound to me like the kind you'd hear in country music. I've tried the one on Eastwest Quantum Leap Goliath, but it doesn't seem to go any higher than E6. What's up with that? I wonder does anybody have any .nki files and samples of a pedal steel guitar, including all the characteristics like pitch bend?

Yes, the Wavelore steel guitar is excellent, but it is complex with a lot of control, to get the best out of it you have to think like a steel guitarist.

Indeed, Wavelore Pedal Steel is most excellent, but it really needs a lot of control, and as stated above, it has been scripted with pedal steel players in mind.

I use it live and it isn't that hard to learn.
The Belbinator is developing a Dobro Slide that should be equally impressive.
Having an old multi zone ribbon controller adds even more realism.
The way he recorded different neck positions makes the realism IMO.
I use only 4 Keyswitches. 3 x A notes and the low G for Tremolo.
The expression pedal ( CC 11 ) extends the portamento range exactly like a Pedal Steel Player would use a volume pedal and swell with the bends.......truly excellent.
