    Hello!

greetings from a new Kontakt user.
Since I plan to use some of my KomPakt libraries (like EWQL) in Kontakt2, I'm somehow curious: Has anyone here made a objective test how CPU behaves with Kompakt 2 compared to (the same multi and linear playback only) in Kontakt 1.5, or there Kompakt player versions? I mean all linear, without FX or filters.

My first test showed much more CPU consummation but since I'm new to it, I may have missed something. I thought it should be even a bit lighter with the processor optimization - ?

    Best

I have done such tests. K2 is far worse on the CPU than the EW players or K1.5. It seems to act as if the AUX streams are running and draining CPU power. I wish I could delete them and see but double clicking on an AUX channel crashes K2.

I've repro'ed the double-click-on-aux-channel issue and have reported it to the developers.

    thanks chris.

Why do you think it's the aux streams? Sounds logical, but I see nothing that would indocate they're doing anything. Yes they crash if I follow your instructions;) . At least I can disable their outputs (which brings no CPU advantage, though)

I find it difficult to set DFD values to the same settings as with the 1.5 Versions for comparision. Could this be the point?

    So where is the optimisation?

I found that if I remove the "Sends" Insert effect which is a part of each program by default, I get some slight improvement.

In "stop" mode with nothing playing, CPU went down by 5% in a Multi with seven instruments.

Kontakt2 seems to be eating up CPU cycles relative to the number of instruments loaded. I wish I could just make a program in K2 and load it in K1 but it has no 'save as ver 1.5' option.
