    Hi Folks,

I am looking for a cool piano and strings layer. I am using Kontakt 4 (full version) and session strings.

But what ever I try, I am facing the problem, that my strings are a bit dominant and if I hold a cord too long the strings stick out way too much.

I am listening to several layer sound of yamaha or roland and all of this sound...hmmmm.... a bit more intelligent in layering.

Anybody a preffered setup or hints? Of course I can make me a nice prerecording in my Cantabile. But I would like to play a bit LIVE :D

    Thx.

Have you tried simply turning the strings down? Or you could adjust the envelope on the strings so that they too fade away.

This is really difficult to answer on the forum, because everyone's sound libraries are different, and everyone's tastes are different, so without hearing what you're hearing, and without hearing the sound you want in your head...we're kinda guessing in the dark.

What I do is layer the strings and put them on a volume pedal. That way, I can play Piano alone and swell in the strings at the right time. I use Omnisphere for strings.

Possibly a compressor or limiter can solve the problem.

Ah THIS sounds a clever plan. THX a lot. I also tried PRISM and found out that a more "pad" sytle sound mixis better.

But together with the excellent controllability of Kontakt 4 with a volume pedal it should work :D :D :D

Can't wait to try it out today..

    THX A LOT !
