Hi, my ensemble "Strum Guitar" has a pickup emulation. Its not a standalone effect, but you could excise it from the ensemble and wrap it up.

sweet thanku cool synth aswell btw. one question - is it difficult to modify this pickup to have a polyphonic input and output? when i feed it a poly in it doesnt work.

Hi, you can just change the "Pickup" module from Mono to Poly in the module properties (right-click).

I use 6 different mono modules in my ensemble, one for each string. Each one has slightly different response to give a more realistic sound. You could use the 6 I have and use To-Voice and From-Voice modules to go from 6-voice poly to 6 mono channels back to a 6-voice poly.

    thanks a lot jjclark
i'm reading the manual for your synth and the pickup controls read:

Pickup Pos: This controls the location (in inches away from the bridge) of the
    simulated electric guitar pickup.
Pickup Width: This sets the width of the simulated guitar pickup (in inches).

how hard would it be to add a symmetry control to rotate the pickup on its axis? how did you find out how to model the pickup? how do the physics of it work?

by looking the module what i gather is the signal is subtracted from a variable delayed signal twice in sequence. how does that relate to what happens in a magnetic pickup?

i guess ive asked a lot of questions by now the main thing i want to know though is how to add control of the symmetry. thanks for ur help buddy godbless!

I got a lot of the info I used to implement the guitar pickup emulation from Don Tillman's excellent web site:

A lot of the answers you are seeking can be found there.
