Pioneer DDJ-SB Not Connecting to Traktor Pro 2

Hello, this has been bugging me for weeks now, I recently purchased a Macbook Pro 13" and was really happy with it until I began trying to set up my Pioneer DDJ-SB to Traktor. First of all I had a windows laptop prior to this and the controller worked fine and connecting [perfectly first time.

Okay first of all the controller is connected to the mac via the usb port and all the lights are lit after being plugged in. However as soon as I try to use the controller in Traktor I get nothing, none of the knobs work. This is what makes me so confused it worked perfectly before when I was using Windows, I am just confused as to what is causing traktor to not recognise the controller. The audio is working fine it is just purely the controller giving me nothing. I have tried numerous different mapping for the DDJ-SB to no avail. I am well and truly stumped. Any ideas people?
