hello to everybody. I am to buy a new ddj t1 from pioneer before making the step i need to know if it is good enough. i came from cdj world and used for about xponet with traktor in about 2 years. i want a controller that is close to cdj but traktor operative. i need an user review for these piece of unit. friends of mine recommend me the s1 but i hate serato. for me is just like virtual dj thing considering that i love to beat-match manually and use the traktor FX power that is great better than any DJM from pioneer. but i want to know an opinion about it from users.

Great to be part of these forum :D

I've had mine for about 5 months and my god I love it. It's my first foray into digital since having decks for 15 years. The sound card is killer the feel of the whole unit is very good. I'd like to be more specific and say this is good and that could be better but I fail to see the point. It's a brilliant bit of kit and in my opinion you can't go far wrong with it. My only gripe is the price but hey if you're considering this you must be aware there is a premium for Pioneer kit.

    Thanks for replying

I am not worried about the price. I know that there are a lot of cdj in the market cheaper then pioneer but never had their quality and long life. I know a place that still have their cdj 1000 in about 14 years and still they rock. I know pioneer quality what i need to know is capacity. Sound Card and software integration. A lot of people advice to buy the s1 but it is an itch controller i love tractor. and tractor FX. I need to know how tight is the jogweel because i manually beatmatch.

And Again thanks alot for sharing:D

The jogwheel is great (when used) in my opinion however I have nothing really to compare it to as I've never played on any cdj's. It behaves very much like a deck and has inertia on spinback which is the only controller to do so I believe. It's bigger than jogwheels I've seen on controllers such as the VCI400 or s4. Hopefully someone else will comment to give you a better comparison as to be completely honest and I'm probably gonna get slated for this I'm a big fan of the sync button for many reasons and yeah I can beatmatch have been doing so for almost 20 years.

Probably not that helpful. My advice try before you buy if you can. Fortunately for me living in Manchester I could drop into Dawsons and tried out the s4 and the ddj before buying.

    thanks for the advice.

I am nit one of those dj that hate the sync button. It halps because u can focus on other things and u can spent time on fx and other things. Yes I have tried a little the t1 and the jogs look fine nough the only complain are the vu metters missing, and there is a lot of rezistance on the EQ-s. But 10 mminutes try out. Doesnt halp. I want to know how it is during full sets and giggs. And comapring to the s1. It has VU-metter and I heard that there is a TSI map for the s1 but at first loo the t1 fx lay aout it is traktor friendly. And in these thread I want to know how mouch u users are satified with t1.

Again thanks a lot for the support.

I have owned mine for about a month now and i love it, had a couple of controllers before this - and with these i had little problems which annoyed me - so i decided to spend out and get the ddjt1 and I am really happy with everything from sound quality to the layout to the mapping. One thing is there is no standard buttons for eq kill which would be handy as on all the different mixer section options I cant get the eq to completely kill the the sound so I will have to map kill buttons to lesser used buttons unless anyone here knows how to kill the eq?

Yes absolute kill on EQ is cool but it is not a main problem, the only thing that it is worring are the vu meters. all is done by tractor and i am afraid that tractor vu on the screen sometime lies you. I tested it on about ten minutes on a shop and the channel faders are i think to much resistant also the knobs.

    Software is decided

The software is decided and it is Traktor. About the decks it not a problem i would like to use sample deck but what i like more are using the jog wheels. I am not a controllerist. I am used to cdj. What i actually want to know is the user experience about the t-1. How much are you satisfied with the gear or if you not.

    Go for it!

I bought this product back in May when Guitar Center only had 1 unit in its entire system, which made me leary at first. But I researched the heck out it, bought it, and have no regrets. I run a basic setup, 2 CDJ's 800 and now this unit. The only thing I had a problem with was finding a road case for the unit, because none were made at the time. But it fits perfectly into the road case for the CDJ so I bought another for the mixer. It is great and you won't regret it. Hope that helps.

    DDJT1 and EQ kills

    Hi everyone,

I just got the DDJT1 and moving from cd/vinyl setup it does look pretty good and close to the real deal. The loop/fx possibility's are pretty good and easy to use.

As some of you are pointing out though, a couple of things are bugging me so far:

One is the no view-meter on the hardware which can be eventually overlooked cause the software has one...

The other is the fact that the EQ's don't kill at all. In fact, they leave quite a lot of sound rumbling in the back compared to the good old hardware mixers and since the software has a kill function, I'm surprised why they didn't think of making the knobs pushable...now the only solution left is mapping your kills manually but the problem is I can't think of many useless buttons on the controller to map ! What I thought was to use SHIFT+ EQ to kill but I couldn't map it...has anyone been able to do that or at least map SHIFT + something for kills ?

    Thanx
